One of his little great nephews called him Uncle Candy Man.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Eugene, and sister Betty.
He is survived by his niece Deborah Martello, nephew Thomas Martello (Imogene), nephew Robert (Ginger), great nieces Brittani, Shelbie, Nacole, Chelsea, Charlie, Ella, Emery and great nephews Ryan, Riley, Gianni, and Antonio.

My wife lived for a period of time at the same facility as Bob. I would bring my small dogs with me on my visits and every time he saw the pups he’d would call them over, reach in his pocket and pull out a treat for them. He really was one nice guy. He will really be missed by the employees and residents of the Beehive along with anyone else that ever dealt with him.

I would always say hi to Bob as I came in to visit my cousin. He would always have a smile and always would speak to me. We sort of became friends after time Now I miss seeing and speaking to him. Many memories of this fine man. Many condolences to family.

As one of the Avon kids who trick-or-treated at Bob’s house, we can attest to him being the “candy man”. He always filled our trick-or-treat bags by weight – they were heavy! He also filled our dad’s solo cup. We enjoyed our visits at his house every Halloween and any time we saw him in-between!
