Robert “Bob” Conboy, age 81, of East Helena

Robert Mickel ‘Bob’ Conboy, age 81, of East Helena, passed away August 31, 2018.

Bob was born March 10, 1937 in Scobey, Montana to Thomas and Agnes (Knutson) Conboy. The family moved to East Helena where he grew up with his brother, Richard and his sister, Mary Ann. Following graduation from Helena High School, he went into the United States Air Force serving his country honorably in the 63^rd Fighter Squadron.

After Bob was honorably discharged from the Air Force, he went on to several different occupations, with a lengthy career as a Surveyor for the BNSF Railroad and in the Construction Industry.

Bob was a member of the VFW and enjoyed frequenting his favorite watering holes, 4J’s mainly. He spent many hours caring for his yard and his cats, Mickey and Sammy. He loved to go for rides in the mountains and fly fishing once in a while. Bob had an early 1970’s Volare that he would cruise in and show to friends, which he still drove.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Ann Conboy Marsh. He is survived by his brother, Richard Conboy; his nieces and nephews, Conny Olson, Joseph Marsh, Linda Lee, Cathy Marsh, Sharon Reich, and Barbara Hickman; numerous great nieces and nephews; and his dear friends, Shilo Batten and Lucille O’Leary.

A Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of his Life at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N Montana Ave. Burial will follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial in the social hall of the funeral home.
