Tracy your Families love and care for your mom was a Blessing to watch. Your mom was a beautiful classy lady with a special smile. I so enjoyed sharing our faith and attending Fortress of Joy Church with her. Praying for comfort over you all.

Like my brother Richard Grendahl, I considered Roberta like a second sister and she truly was the best friend of my sister, Paula. Our family was very close to the Wallace family and we shared so many good times together. Roberta was such a warm and generous person and she was adored by all who knew her. I will always carry my memories of her in a special place in my heart.

Traci, I am so sorry for your loss. I was lucky to get to see your mom every time she came to visit my mom in Portland, and it was something I always looked forward to. She was always full of laughs and funny stories, and loved to share with us how you and the grandkids were doing. I loved playing games with her, and just being around her. She was an amazing woman with a bright spirit. She never seemed to let any troubles life would throw at her, keep her from living life to its fullest. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

I also met Berta at the Hydro-tone class at CCHC. She and I exercised side by side many times. She was always smiling and was always so positive. She told me alot about her arthritis and even though she was in pain, she still gave it her all. I’ve thought about her often during the pandemic and was hoping she’d be able to return to the class in the future. Thank you for making me a better person, Berta. I’ll always remember your bright smile!

My Aunt Roberta was like a mother to me. She was the kindest, most caring person I know. She was adventurous as well as we went on many trips together. I always admired her independent, can-do attitude. She was amazing and I will forever miss her. The world lost another angel, but now she is no longer in pain. I love you Aunt Roberta.

    Dear Tracy & Family,
I understand how deep your grief is for your Mom/Grandma Berta. Roberta was a very caring person who deeply treasured her family and our Lord. Her cheerful spirit encouraged and welcomed everyone she met. Berta and I were really like sisters. I met her when Roberta was just a few days old and I am confident even then she made me laugh. That was the beginning of a lifelong journey of sharing fun times, lots of laughter, and an understanding of how wonderful it was to be such close friends. I knew I could share things with Roberta and in no time we both would be laughing. I, along with everyone who knew Berta, will miss her deeply. However, during those times of grief, I will also remember all the fun we had together. I will smile and laugh and be grateful and comforted for the gift of having such an incredible friend.

    Traci, P.J., Carson and Camryn,
I am so sorry for your loss. I met Roberta at a Grendahl family gathering In Portland, OR many years ago, I think it was at Kenny & Altine’s wedding, or maybe at Mildred’s 75th birthday celebration. We sang to Roberta too, as she and Mildred shared the same birthday. I will cherish my memories of Roberta’s smile, fun loving and kind spirit, her laugh and her zest for life! We had a wonderful time when she and Paula traveled to Boydton, VA in 2012 to visit us. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless and keep you in the palm of His hands, encourage and give you strength during this time.
