Ron was born July 19, 1950 in Butte, Montana to Bernard and Mildred Briggeman and raised in Helena. He was blessed with a wonderful family and a million friends, which may even be underestimated. Ron married Shari Smith on October 16, 1971. They would have celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in October. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and he always made sure they all knew how much he loved them. He could never get enough of them.
Ron was an honest man and always told the truth, even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear – definitely not one to sugar-coat anything. His vocabulary was more proficient in knowing more curse words than most people learn in a life time.
Over the course of Ron’s adult life, he was a member of the Army Reserve, worked for the Montana Highway Department as a surveyor, Dan’s Glass as a Glazier, and Frontline Glass as a Glazier and Commercial Glass Estimator. He retired in September 2020, but as expected relaxing didn’t last long, and he started delivering cars for Lithia Motors soon after he retired.
Ron cherished his time spent as a baseball coach for both Trevor and Tim through their bambino years and was their most devoted champion during their years playing Legion baseball and Tim playing college baseball. He was an avid bowler scoring the first 300 in Helena at Capital City Lanes, participated for several years playing softball with the Village Inn softball team, and became very fond of the game of golf.
Ron will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife Shari, sons Trevor and Tim, grandchildren Drew, Caleb, Peyton, Kendyl, Avery and Tyzer, brother Bernie (Frances), mother-in-law Doris Stine, brothers-in-law Dusty, Wayne (Mary) and Tim Smith, several nieces and nephews, and a large circle of the Briggeman and Smith families. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his in-laws Ray and Violet Smith, and nephews Brad Briggeman, Todd Briggeman and Austin Smith.
A memorial service celebrating Ronald’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 21st at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A reception will follow the service in the social hall of the funeral home.

Ron was a friend from bowling and the Highway Department and our thoughts and prayers go out to Shari and the rest of the family 🙏
Randy Wilke (not the funeral director) says
Ron was most assuredly one of a kind….and in a great way. Had the great opportunity to coach baseball with Ron. Every fall also got to “chew the fat” with him at football games, after he learned that he could get one of the best seats in the stadium by working on the chain crew…..plus he did an outstanding job! He was everywhere and Shari, Trevor, and Tim….we’ll all miss him!
Sylvia Lamping says
Shari we are so sorry. I’m going to miss Ron and his joking with me. Most of all my glasses will stay clean 😘 even though I will miss trying to get him first.
He will be missed by many and Terry and I are a couple of them.
