On the evening of April 20, 2020, Roni passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, MT with her daughter holding her hand. Due to complications after sudden pulmonary embolism suffered on Easter Sunday.
Roni was 67 years old, just days before her 68th birthday.
Roni was born in Butte, MT on April 30, 1952. She was the first child of ten children of Donna (Ostoj) Jaeger and Michael Jaeger of Butte, MT.
Roni attended Catholic school and graduated at Butte High School in 1970.
There are many stories and happy memories shared with her four brothers and four sisters growing up in Butte. Her close relationships with her siblings continued into adulthood. Her sister, Peggy, shared that “she wasn’t just my sister, she was my best friend”.
Roni worked at Mountain Pacific Quality Health Foundation in Helena, MT until retiring in 2010. It was her friend, Cindy, from work that introduced her to her future husband, Ken Jean. Roni and Ken were married on July 1, 1995 in Lincoln, MT. They were to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary this July.
Roni enjoyed watching football. There were always bets between Roni and Ken on whose team was going to win every week throughout the season.
Roni had a “green thumb” and always had many plants and flowers. She loved to work out in her rock and flower gardens every spring and summer.
The one thing you would notice walking into Roni and Ken’s home, was her love of butterflies. Everywhere you look, you would see a butterfly. Her grandchildren will always remember chasing butterflies with Grandma Roni.
Roni adored her two grandchildren, “pumpkin” and “munchkin”. Many great memories were made during their times together.
Roni loved cherry coke, exploring abandoned places, watching scary and SciFi movies. She was very talented and enjoyed many crafts over the years. She cross-stitched, painted, did jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. She loved adult coloring books. One of the things she will be remembered for were her beaded calendars she made for family members. Roni always made your birthday special with gift bags and thoughtful cards full of confetti.
Roni also had a special relationship with her daughter, Cory. They talked on the phone many days a week and there was a lot of laughter when they were together.
Roni was preceded in death by her father, Michael Nicholas Jaeger, her baby brother, David Nicholas Jaeger, a nephew, Evan Michael Church, and a baby granddaughter Huber.
Roni is survived by her husband, Ken Jean of East Helena, daughter, Cory (Mike) Huber of Great Falls, MT, grandchildren, Caylee and Mason Huber of Great Falls, MT, mother, Donna Jaeger of Butte, MT, brothers, Mike (Holly) Jaeger of Butte, MT, Jeff (Dar) Jaeger of Butte, MT, John (Julia) Jaeger of Butte, MT, Pete ( Misty) Jaeger of Spokane WA, sisters Julie Jaeger (Ed), Cindy (J.D.) Carara of Colorado Springs, CO, Peggy Jaeger of Butte, MT, Barbara (Mark) Gearhart of Butte, MT, numerous nieces and nephews , great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
A special thanks to the ICU doctors, nurses, and support staff at St. Peter’s Hospital. It was very hard not to be allowed to visit due to the Covid-19 precautions. We will be eternally grateful for your care of Roni.

Roni was always “Cory’s cool mom” to me. She made me feel special, especially when o was a chubby, awkward young girl. Cory was my best friend pretty much throughout my whole childhood and we were destined to always come back together whenever we would move apart from each other. This allowed me many memories of fun times with Roni and Cory. I remember Roni’s cute, infectious laugh. She always looked beautiful with her perfect make-up and cute outfits. These characters were carried down to her beautiful daughter, Cory💜 I know this must be extremely hard on Cory and all the family. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Roni..my sister, my friend. I feel an emptiness inside because you are not here. I will remember your love for all the simple things in life. We have shared many phone calls, just to check in; or to share our love for gardening and crafts. We laughed and giggled about silly things, but we always said; “I love You” at the end of our conversations. I miss you sister. 🦋🦋. Always in my heart. ♥️ your sister forever. Ciny Lou🌻🌻

Cory, living just a few miles away was such a precious blessing. Your dad drove over telling me you had just been born! If I wasn’t in a college class your mom would often let me babysit you for the afternoon. One of my favorite pictures is with Bill Doles and you in my mom’s backyard where you loved to run and laugh. How your mom’s eyes would light up with love every time she saw you and you my sweetheart, oh how I wish I could show you how your father adored you. I’m so grateful I had those 3 years to see you grow until I got married and moved to Japan. One thing I do know- you were created in love and your mom will always eternally be with you, loving you
