ROWLAN, Ruth O., age 87 of Helena, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014.
Ruth Onita Osborne went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 3, 2014. She was born on July 23, 1926 in Princeton, West Virginia to John Mack and Eva Osborne.
Ruth was married to Fieldon Dudley on May 7, 1946 and from this marriage had two sons, Fieldon Eugene and Donald Lee Dudley. Ruth and Fieldon were divorced in 1965 and Ruth married Ralph Rowlan on August 12, 1966.
Ruth worked for the State of Montana, Department of Revenue for 33 years before retiring in 1986.
Ruth enjoyed needle work and she and Ralph were members of the Helena Mineral Society. She was a long time active member of the Helena Nazarene Church since July 1985.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband , Fieldon Dudley and Ralph Rowlan. Her son Donald Dudley, sister Joyce Dobbins, brothers JD and David Osborne. Her mother and father Eva and Mack Osborne.
She is survived by her son Fieldon (Gene) Dudley; brothers, Junior Osborne (Louise), Princeton West Virginia; John Osborne, Elmer Osborne (Marilyn) Tom Osborne (Gwen), Frank Osborne (Rose) all of Helena; sisters Margaret Smith Carnes, Medford, Oregon; Faye McPherson (Arnold) of Jackson, Ohio; Maxine Olsen (Gene) of Helena; step sister Jean Green, of Helena and Shirley Ellis (Dave) of Indiana and step brother, Bill Horvey of Princeton, West Virginia. She is also survived by two grandsons and three granddaughters as well as several great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Nazarene Church of Helena, 117 Valley Dr. with a burial to follow the service at Forestvale Cemetery. A reception will be held at the church after the burial. Donations can be made to the Helena Nazarene Church or the charity of their choice.
