Sandra Lee Trask, 75, of Helena, Montana, passed away on July 27, 2023. She was born on Aug 17, 1947 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Growing up Sandra lived in several states with her family, moving to Dillon, Montana, then to San Antionio Texas, and finally ending up in San Jose, California where she graduated from high school. After high school she became a mail carrier, and enjoyed delivering mail on foot for many years. She switched careers later in life and worked at Safeway until she retired. Sandra and her mother Ramona moved to Helena in 2003 to be closer to her brother Eugene (Sturgis). They enjoyed their time living here together, but that time was sadly cut short as Ramona passed away in 2014, Steven in 2015, and Sturgis in 2016. Sandra’s church family became her family at that point. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a member of the Helena 1st ward, serving as the Ward Librarian for many years. Sandra had a soft spot for the youth of the church and was always generous in helping with Eagle Scout Projects, Missions, and finding ways to help the youth earn money. Sandra continued her mother’s tradition of collecting dolls and many figurines. She was also a huge supporter of the Humane Society and loved her cat Sweetie Pie until they had to part ways when she moved into Beehive Homes (formerly Legacy Assisted Living). Sandra spent the last few years of her life in the love and care of those at Beehive. Those who cared for her quickly learned to love her spunky nature, and enjoyed spending time visiting with her. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Melvin Trask, her mother Ramona Linnea Rosengren Trask, and brothers Eugene Trask and Steven Trask. Sandra had a special bond with her grandmother and will be buried next to her. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Ririe-Shelton, Idaho Cemetery in Rigby, Idaho.

Sandra and Ramona have been dear friends since they moved to Helena. Such kind, sweet ladies! Sandra was always quick with a smart come-back! I always enjoyed visiting with her. I know she must be so happy to be back with her family! Sandra was kind to everyone! I’ll always remember her sweet smile!
