Sandra Lee “Sandi” Hilderman
Our mom, grandma and Nana, Sandra Lee Hilderman, died in Helena, Montana, on September 6, 2024, at the age of 80 years old. Her biggest goal in life was to meet Jesus in Heaven someday, and, knowing her, we are sure she is there with Him now. Anyone meeting her, knew that Sandi was special- so loving and caring and giving. Knowing her was a true blessing!
She was born to George and Laura Ritchey on February 15, 1944, in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Sandi had a brother (Samuel) and sister (Laura Mae) who died before she was born, and when she was 5 years old, God blessed her with a brother, Robert Ritchey, who died in September 2019.
At Rocky Mountain College, Sandi met her first husband, Gary Myhre, and had Tana Marie Myhre and Michele Lee (Myhre) Lewallen, while living in Billings, Montana, and Yakima, Washington. Years later, while working at the Ramada Inn in Billings, she met the man who could only see the top of her head over the serving window counter (she WAS short) and they fell in love. On March 27, 1982, Sandi married Paul Hilderman and the great romance began. God blessed them with Laura Jo in September 1984.
Sandi was happy to be a Science Teacher, Substitute Teacher and Title I Teacher, Assistant Registrar at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Co-owner of the East Parkway Restaurant in Billings. She also worked as an EMT in Wheatland County and Hardin, Montana, and especially enjoyed working at the Department of Revenue in Helena as a tax assessor.
She is survived by her husband Paul; daughters Tana Myhre (Rick), Michele Lewallen (Nick) and Laura Hilderman (Kyle), and grandchildren Joshua Myhre, Jessica Briceno, Nickolas Lewallen III (Christina), Alexandria Lewallen, Viola Davies (Cole), Matthias Sprau and Jake Carlson. Her great-grandchildren are Kenzee (Briceno) Frank, Adysen Myhre, Taven Myhre, Nickolas Lewallen IV, James Lewallen, Gwendolyn Lewallen, Clara Lewallen, and Felix Davies. On August 1, 2024, Sandi became a great-great-grandmother when Maddilynn Mae Frank was born in Belgrade, and even visited her the week before her death. Boy, did she love getting pictures with her great-great-granddaughter!!!
She was preceded in death by her father (George S. Ritchey), mother (Laura E. Ritchey), brother (Samuel G. Ritchey), sister (Laura M. Ritchey), and brother (Robert L. Ritchey).
