In Memory Of

Saundra Lynne Camden, age 75, of Helena

January 6, 1950 – June 30, 2025

With heartfelt memories and heavy hearts, we share the passing of Saundra L. Camden. Sandi, a devoted wife to John W. Camden and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at age 75. Her deep love for her family was the foundation of her life, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void.

Born on January 6, 1950, in Townsend, Montana, Sandi spent her childhood there and graduated from high school in 1968. She dedicated 30 years to working for the State of Montana before retiring in 2008. In 2010, Sandi and John moved to Great Falls but recently returned to Helena, which truly felt like home to her, especially because it allowed her to be closer to her beloved family.

Sandi exemplified love and care, pouring her heart into everything she did. She worked diligently to create cherished memories for her family, always striving to make life a little more special. Her generous spirit, a beacon of warmth and love, shone brightly in all her endeavors, especially in her crafting. For those fortunate enough to receive a gift or a craft from Sandi’s Sewing Creations, you know how much love she infused into every piece! Beyond her craft, Sandi filled her life with adventure and joy. She loved camping, soaking up the sunshine with her radiant smile, going fishing, and zipping around in her Polaris RZR. She proudly drove the red car she loved most, affectionately named MSREDMT, which perfectly matched her vibrant personality! Always glamorous, she was affectionately known as John’s “Million Dollar Lady,” and she brought warmth and joy to everyone she met.

Though our hearts ache from her loss, Sandi will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Young; her adopted father, Dick Ewing; her beloved brother, Van Ewing; her fur grandchild, Barley Reed; Kenneth Biggs; and other cherished family members, as well as her beloved pets.

Sandi’s warmth and love will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind: she is survived by her wonderful mother, Nadine Biggs of Billings, MT; her loving husband, John Camden of Helena, MT; her adoring children, Stephanie (Caleb) Hill of Pason, UT; Neal (Dawn) Meier of Boulder, MT; Kristi Reed of Clancy, MT; and stepdaughters, Danielle (Marek) Dinges of Terry, MT; Monique Camden of Plano, TX. Sandi also leaves behind her dear sister, Guyla Craft (Joe) of Cabot, AR; sister-in-law Jody Ewing of Gillette, WY; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends and little admirers who will always remember her fondly.

As Winnie the Pooh beautifully said, “If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.”

We invite everyone who knew and loved Sandi to join us in celebrating her life at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Anderson, Stevenson, Wilke and Retz Funeral Home, 3750 N Montana Ave., Helena, MT 59602, with a lovely reception to follow. In true Sandi fashion, she would love to see everyone in bright colors, radiating the happiness she brought into our lives.

I have only known Sandi for the past year. The last 6 months we got to be close friends. I have only lived in Helena about 3 years. Had lived in Billings with my husband since I was married at 19, he died and I moved here. I had no friends and I remember Sandi said I will be your friend. We just hit it off. Just the last couple of
months we had starting having lunch, she was over to my house. The last time I saw her she brought me one of her wreaths for my front door telling me how she loved making them. All the plans we just made on June 27.
I am so heart broken that this beautiful lady is gone. I felt like I had known her for decades. Sandi was the
sweetest person ever. I will never forget her. So lucky she came into my LIFE when I need a friend!!
RIP my dear, lovely friend Sandi! Thanks for being my FRIEND and bringing me hope and joy when was I so down and lonely! You were the sweetest and kindest person. I was so lucky are paths crossed even was this short period. AMEN

Such a wonderful loving, compassionate, and talented friend to so many from youth through senior years, Sandi will be missed. I always counted Sandi as one of my best friends during high school years. Each time, albeit too few, we visited again as age fell upon us, a youthful joy and friendship renewed.
Meeting Sandi’s wonderful husband, John was an equal pleasure. Two very nice, sincere people united.
I must add that in Sandi, I also saw the many positive attributes of her awesome mother who was always a positive adult influence during my youth and young adult years.
My heart feels pain in our loss of Sandi; however, the good she conveyed to those around her brings mitigating joy.
Sandi, old friend, you will be missed by many. May you rest in Peace.
Heartfelt condolences to John, Nadine, family and friends.

I am so sad to read of Sandi’s passing. She promised me that she would look me up when she made it to Las Vegas and I her next time I was in Montana. We worked together years ago at The State. One Halloween I dressed up as the witch from Snow White. I handed her an apple. She threw it back in my basket after long careful thought and said ‘I don’t think so’! She had no idea it was me and the look on her face was priceless. She followed me through the office to see where I went to sit. We had a lot of fun together working. My deepest sympathies to John and all her family. She talked about her family a lot and her crafting. She spread so much joy and warm. Rest in Peace, Sandi. So sorry we didn’t get to see one another one more time. 😘

I lived with Sandi In Denver as we were both trying to pursue careers. That was almost 56 years ago. I had planned to look her up after I move back to Montana, but life happens and you just don’t do things you plan on doing. So sorry I was never in contact with her, we had great fun in Denver and she was a lovely, fun, loving person. Sending thoughts and prayers to her family.🙏🏻🙏🏻
