During his 4 years of service, he was stationed twice to Okinawa, Japan. Scott was an expert swimmer & worked with Marine’s on numerous swimming techniques. He was honorably discharged in 1998. A chapter of his life that he held close to his heart and cherished the memories and camaraderie he built during that time.

Scott was a devoted member of the InternationaL Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. (IBEW local 44) He held close bonds to his mentors and Brothers. Participating in Lineman’s Rodeos were highlights he looked foward to.

Surrounded by family, Jackie and Scott were married in an intimate ceremony on October 26th, 2018 at Niagara Falls. They lived near Buffalo in Hamburg, New York. Scott and Jackie loved to travel and were outdoor weekend warriors, the two enjoyed biking, hiking and kayaking with their dog Bailey. Gardening was a hobby he enjoyed. Holidays were some of their most cherished times together.
Scott continued his career as a Lineman while in New York taking him up and down the east coast chasing the aftermath of storms and restoring power as needed. At the time of his passing, he was working as a line inspector in the Long Island area.
Scott was a devoted husband, son, brother, grandson, step-dad and friend. He adored his family and friends and in recent years enjoyed his trips home to Montana, the land that he loved and called home. Some of his happiest times during his younger years were spent hunting, camping and fishing with his dad, brother, Uncle Pat and Grandpa Ted. He always looked forward to their annual elk hunt near Dillon, Montana. He had memorable fishing trips and stories from the Tobacco Root Fishing Trips to Alaska and many summer lake outings. He enjoyed reminiscing about these trips to anyone that would listen! Scott was a dedicated and die hard Montana Grizzly Fan and recently traveled to Frisco, Texas with his sister, Kristen, to cheer on their team. Since his early childhood & all through his adult life, he was an avid & dedicated fan!

JoAnne, Brad, Stephanie and all of his family, I’m just at a loss of words and so shocked and saddened to see and read this today. I’m so sorry.
Whenever I ran into him around town before he headed back East, he always had a big smile and hug. He was one of a kind. Ironically, I was sorting through photos this past weekend and found pictures from skiing at the divide, MORP our freshman year, and Prom that year that a big group of us went all together when JoAnne and Tracy made our dinner at your house.
May the memories help you all get through this. My love and thoughts are with you all ~ April (Helmbrecht) Fife

JoAnne,
I’m so, so sorry to hear about Scott. Bryan called me as soon as he heard. My heart is broken for you. It doesn’t seem that long ago our boys played together on Cannon Street, but a lot of years have gone by. Some cherished memories. I’ll never forget Scott’s sweet face and smile. I am praying for you. May you feel Jesus strong arms around you. With all my Sincere Sympathy.

I was in Boy Scouts with Scott in the 80s, and am saddened to hear of his passing at such a young age. Affectionately nicknamed ‘Munky’ we knew Scott had a good nature about him as well as an eagerness to learn how to survive in the outdoors even back then. Although many decades have passed, I feel honored having known him and it sounds like he lived the best life he could have. Semper Fi and Fair Winds and Following Seas, my friend!

Scott was a classmate of mine at CR and CHS. We didn’t run around in the same group of friends, but we were friends through different classes at school. Scott was kind, inclusive, funny, and heartfelt. I’m so sorry for your loss, I simply can’t imagine your pain. Peace be with all of you.
