In Memory Of

Sharen L. Robertson, age 88, of Helena

January 8, 1937 – September 5, 2025

Sharen Lee (Foote) Robertson, 88, of Helena, passed away peacefully on September 5th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  Born January 8th, 1937, in Roundup, MT, to Leon and Mildred Foote, Sharen was raised with a love for music, humor, and reading that never faded.

Sharen married her college sweetheart, Vern Robertson, in 1958, and together they built a home where music, dancing, baking, Bobcat football, and Carroll College volleyball were all important.  Sharen was known for her love of dessert, and no dinner was complete without it.  She also passed this gene on to her children and grandchildren.

Sharen graduated from MSU with a teaching degree.  She taught Home Ec for many years in Shelby, MT, which she enjoyed immensely.  She took a break from teaching to raise her two sons and one daughter.  She embraced the many roles of being the CEO of the Robertson household, from homemaker to bookkeeper for the farm and business, managing everything with remarkable organization, and always doing it with a smile on her face and love in her heart.

Sharen loved music, dancing, and reading, but she was happiest when she was with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved going to all of their events and being part of their lives.  Even at 88, she could get down on the ground to play with her great-grandchildren and get back up with ease.  She taught her family that manners are non-negotiable, always be kind to others, and that dessert can be considered a replacement for any meal.

She is survived by her husband, Vern, her children, Kelly (Jodi) Robertson of Helena, Scott (Janine) Robertson of Helena, and Shawn (Andy) Schweyen of Missoula; her seven grandchildren, Nicole (Rob), Kelsey (Nolan), Quinci (Mitch), Madison, McKenna, Holter, Greyson and her four great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Kinsley, Weston and Owen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Mildred Foote.

A celebration of Sharen’s life will be announced and held at a later date.

Sharen was such a dear friend. Sharen lived close by us for many years, and belonged to the same church. We were in the same gourmet dinner club, and Sharen loved cooking for that. There was delicious foods had, and many, many good laughs. We will missSharen. Our love to the family, and a hug to Vern! Sharen is now at peace, resting in the arms of our Lord.

Kelly, Scott and Shawn and family: It was sad to read of your Mom’s passing this morning. She was a great lady and was definitely the CEO of the household. She and your Dad were clients and good friends for almost 50 years. You will be in our prayers. Sorry for your loss…………….Joe & Cherie

Vern: So saddened to read of Sharen’s passing in today’s paper. I enjoyed the friendship and relationship that we shared for many years even though we were rooting for different football teams! Sharen’s obituary was well written and describes Sharen to a “T”. So sorry for your loss…………..Joe

Sharon was my eighth grade English teacher at Saint Williams Catholic school in Shelby. I decided at a young age that I wanted to be a school teacher because of Mrs. Robertson. She always wore bracelets on her wrist and they jingled while she wrote on the board and I thought that was so cool! I never knew her when she wasn’t smiling and laughing. She was a great woman and she had a wonderful family Please accept my sincere condolences

Sorry for your loss. My folks graduated from Laurel High School with Sharen… Class of 1954. Dad (Bob Schessler) is very sad to hear of her passing. We found negatives of Sharen and Vern’s wedding among my grandpa’s things. I’ve shared, enjoy!

Vern and family………….We have thought of you guys so often. I know you are aware of the fact that I was the nurse monitoring Sharen’s progress as she was in labor with Kelly. She was such a delight, even tho I swear when she laid down the baby stood up:-) As we were wheeling her into delivery I asked if she knew Jerry and she said “Why didn’t you tell me you were going with him because we could have covered THAT ground instead of just counting minutes.”
Boy does everyone remember what an incredible dancer she was…….just an incredible person!
Mildred came to lunch at the hospital so many times that we formed a bond with her….what a sweetheart!
Sharen will certainly be missed……. Jerry and Dee Abbie
