In the early morning hours of June 5, 2018, Shirley lost her long courageous battle with cancer. In the last weeks, days and hours she was surrounded by loving family and friends.  She was 62 years old.

Shirley was born in Spokane, Washington to William (Bill Divine) and Shirley Divine; she was the eldest of three children.  She moved to East Helena in 1972 and attended and graduated from Helena High.

Shirley worked various jobs until working for Blue Cross Blue Shield for seven years and then she had a house cleaning business, touching many lives for 30 years.

On August 18, 1979 she married Glen Sutheimer, the love of her life. Shirley was a loving wife, friend, mother, grandmother and aunt; she was selfless and compassionate to all who knew her.

She loved Jesus, family, travel, camping, garage sales, crafts, collecting angel figurines, rollercoasters, and UTV riding with Glen and family.

She is survived by her husband, Glen; son, Ryan Sutheimer and wife Bekah; daughter, Kasie Wilcox and her husband, Michael; brothers, Steve (Sherry) Divine, Dan (Cheri) Seed; sister Shannon Thomas; grandchildren, Levi Sutheimer, Harper Wilcox and Axl Wilcox.  She was so blessed for her life-long friends and caretakers, Debbie Petek of Big Fork, MT and Debbie Davis of Helena.  Surviving parents are Dee Quinton of Spokane, WA and Diane Divine of Helena; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Bill Divine; mother, Shirley Quinton; brother, Vince Divine and nephew, Steven Divine.

The celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13th at Life Covenant Church, 800 N. 24. Judy & Larry Baker says

    June 11, 2018 at 7:28 pm

Glen, Ryan & Kasie – Larry & I loved Shirley from the minute Glen introduced her to us when they were dating. She was a sweet, charming and gentle young lady with such a tender smile. That never changed. We often wondered how Glen got that sweet girl to marry him. But they made such a lovely couple. It is with much sorrow that we say goodbye to her for now but we’re so blessed that we’ll see her again. Please know that in the meantime, we shall never forget her; she will live on in our hearts and memories. I can hear her gentle voice and see her sweet smile whenever I think about her…and I smile.

    Glenn and family…
I am so sorry for your loss. Shirley definitely left a legacy of love, thoughtfulness, and sweetness.
We went to Helena High together and I was fortunate to run into her off and on through the years. I remember her smile and her faith in God.
I pray for strength from our Lord to enfold you as you grieve and sweet memories of Shirley will come to mind to comfort you and that you allow peace to touch your hearts.
She has completed her journey in our temporary home and now rests in eternity.
Rejoice in each sunrise and each sunset that brings you closer to God and Shirley.
    God Bless!
