In Memory Of

Shirley M. Weiss, age 75 of Helena

August 9, 1943 – January 8, 2019

Shirley Mae Weiss passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on the morning of January 8, 2019.  Shirley was born on August 9, 1943 to Regina and Edward Weiss in Helena.

She attended schools in Helena and graduated from Helena Senior High School in 1961.  She worked numerous clerical and service jobs in several states until 2014.  She was active in the Montana Multiple Sclerosis Society in Helena, MT.  She was a member of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and Jobs Daughters and attended St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ronald Weiss, her sister Jean Bolduc, and her nephew Justin Robbe.

Shirley is survived by her siblings: Ed Weiss, Jr. (Linda Locke), Battleground, WA; Kathleen Mohr (Martin) Park City, MT; Tom Weiss, Helena, MT; Mark Weiss (Jeanne) Spokane, WA; and Margaret Robbe (Clyde), Butte, MT; brother-in-law, Rick Bolduc, Florida; and sister-in-law, Gretchen Weiss, Spokane, WA.  She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Shirley enjoyed camping and fishing, travel, crocheting, movies and family gatherings, especially those held at “the cabin.”  She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, teaching them to fish on Beaver Creek.  The time she spent at Beaver Creek created a lifetime of memories for Shirley.

Shirley’s memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the Montana Multiple Sclerosis Society, www.nationalmssociety.org, the York Volunteer Fire Department, 6040 Nelson Rd, Helena, MT 59602, or the donor’s choice.

A special thank you to Jeff and Judy Salisbury for the countless hours of care and compassion shown to Shirley.  Also, a thank you to Dee Salisbury, John and Jan Wenderoth, and the staff at the Apple Cooney Center.

I’m so sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. I worked with Shirley when she was a data entry operator for the State of Montana in the Department of Administration.
I learned a lot from her. My deepest sympathy.
