In Memory Of

Stanley “Geno” G. Levno

June 29, 1933 – August 10, 2012

Stanley G. Levno (Geno) went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2012 at 3:30 in the afternoon at the Big Sky Care Center in Helena, Montana. Geno was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Arvys and Stanley Levno on June 29, 1933. Geno lived with his family in Sidney, Montana where his dad ran the Sidney Implement Company.

Geno joined the United States Marine Corp in 1952 and was discharged in 1955. He worked for Dave Thiessen in Lambert, Montana after he got out of the military. Geno met Delores Dotson and they were married in April of 1957. While working in Lambert, Geno came to know the Lord as his Savior.

Geno had many talents. He learned the auto body and welding trade in Denver. When he and Delores came back to Montana, Geno owned and operated a body shop in Belgrade. He worked for Olaf Johnson Logging; Valley Irrigation in Belgrade, MT; Ward Irrigation; and Arts Auto Body in Bozeman. He then went on to be independent and operated his own welding truck and traveled all over Montana and Wyoming and a lot of the jobs were through Blaine Lininger of Belgrade.

Geno loved to hunt and fish. Opening day of hunting season, he was out chasing the Wily Whapiti. When his sons, Doug and Dave were old enough, they went with him and Dave liked the hunting more than Doug did. Geno had some big shoes to fill and will be missed by all of us who loved him.

Geno and Delores had three children, Douglas Gene Levno and wife Rebecca of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, April Beth Pittman and husband Chris of Chucky, TN; David Dean Levno – deceased; Kathryn Ann (Levno) Houska and Dennis Houska, Husband of Belgrade, MT; and 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Brothers, Tom (Lisa) Levno of Inglewood, CA; John ( Celinda Ann) Levno of Chandler, AZ; Paul Levno – deceased , Arley (Patricia Gobbett) Levno of Columbia, Maryland; Glenn (Joan) Levno of Clearbrooke, MN; sister, Rosebeth Levno of Fairbanks, AK; and half sister, Helen Dunn of Spokane, WA.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Faith Baptist Church (5 Jack Farm Rd.) the corner of D Street at Harrison in Townsend. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall of the church following the service. To offer a condolence or share a memory of Stanley, please visit: www.retzfuneralhome.com.

    Deloris —

So sorry to hear about Geno’s passing. He was a larger-than-life character who contributed to our “western” upbringing. Many good memories from around the camp fire and kitchen table. He will be missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
