With heavy hearts, we share the sudden but peaceful passing of Stephanie Michelle Delli Bovi on February 11, 2025. Though her time with us was far too short, she lived with resilience, love, and an unshakable devotion to family. Stephanie was 37 years old eldest child of four born October 8th,1987 to Janice and Michael Stoltz in Oberlin, Ohio.
She leaves behind many beloved friends and family. She touched everyone she came in contact with, with her upbeat and bubbly personality. She was always a light in a dark room.
Stephanie grew up and lived in Vermilion, Ohio until her and former spouse Evan moved to Helena, MT the end of 2016 to embrace new beginnings with courage. She found her greatest joy in her daughter, Penelope born December 7th, 2017—her miracle, her reason, and the light of her world. Every step she took was with Penny in mind, and the bond they shared was nothing short of extraordinary.
As life unfolded in unexpected and beautiful ways, Stephanie’s heart expanded even further when she met the love of her life, Matthew. With this love came the gift of four incredible stepchildren—Asa, Elias, Josiah, and Adalee—whom she cherished as her own. Her family grew, not just in numbers but in warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. They spent countless hours together, creating memories with activities that brought them closer, like weekend boating trips where they would laugh and bond on the water. They also enjoyed simple yet fun art activities at home, where she encouraged creativity—whether it was painting, crafting, or making homemade cards. Enjoying a peaceful sunset on the lake or crafting together, these moments were filled with joy. She made sure that every family gathering was filled with fun, adventure, and togetherness, turning simple moments into cherished traditions. Her love for her family was evident in every activity they shared, and she brought a special sense of care and connection to each one.
Stephanie always enjoyed shopping, especially for cozy sweatshirts that matched her laid-back style. She loved finding the perfect pieces that made her feel both comfortable and fashionable. Taking time for her nails, hair, and eyelashes was another part of her self-care routine that she truly cherished. Shopping and pampering herself in these simple ways gave her the opportunity to unwind, recharge, and embrace her personal style while staying grounded in the busy moments of life.
Stephanie cherished phone calls with her mom, moments that always brought a sense of comfort and warmth. No matter how busy life got, those conversations were a treasured part of her day. She would share stories about her family, the kids, and the little things that made her smile, and her mom would listen with love and offer advice and encouragement. Whether they were reminiscing about old memories or making plans for the future, each call left her feeling grounded and grateful for the deep connection they had.
Stephanie had always felt a deep sense of fulfillment in caring for others, particularly children and the elderly. She first started working with kids at Kid’s center and the YMCA daycare in Vermilion, OH. With children, she had a natural ability to connect with them, offering comfort and guidance as they navigated their world. Later in Montana she continued her work with children at Discovery kidzone and later for another Montessori center.
Likewise, she found joy in assisting the elderly. She worked at Legacy Assisted Living and Renaissance Senior Care. She found a deep love for her work. Caring for the elderly became more than just a job to Stephanie—it was a calling. She formed meaningful connections with the residents, offering not only physical care but emotional support as well. Stephanie’s compassionate nature made her a beloved figure there, and she cherished the opportunity to make a difference in their lives. Whether she was listening to their stories, offering a helping hand, or simply sharing a laugh, Stephanie felt a sense of fulfillment in her role that filled her heart with purpose. Her empathy and compassion truly made a difference in the lives of those around her.
Stephanie was on a remarkable journey of recovery, working hard every day to overcome her struggles with alcohol. She had made incredible progress, and with each passing day, she was getting better and stronger. Nearly six months sober, Stephanie felt a sense of pride in how far she had come. She dedicated herself to healing, embracing the support of loved ones, and taking small steps toward building a healthier future. Her commitment to her sobriety was a testament to her strength and determination, and she was focused on continuing to improve her life, finding joy in the progress she made every day.
Stephanie will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the way she made every person she met feel valued and loved. Her spirit lives on in Penny, her stepchildren, partner Matthew, parents Janice and Mike, brother Joseph, and sister Samantha and in all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is preceded in death by her brother Christopher Stoltz
She was a Mother, a Partner, a Daughter, a Sister, a Friend—but above all, she was love. And love never truly leaves us.
