Steve was born in Fulton, MO on July 19, 1954 to Connie & Roland Beasley. He was raised in Seattle, WA and moved to Helena, Montana in 1977 when he and Yvonne Sharbono were married. Together they raised three sons: Luke, Tyler, and Jordan.
Steve enjoyed a lifelong career in the construction world. Before starting his own business, he worked for 17 years at Sharbono Construction. In 2004 he began working as a carpenter at MSU Bozeman. Steve loved his family very much and was extremely proud of his three boys. Whenever possible, he loved to watch his granddaughter Camaryn play tennis and volleyball and his grandson Drew play baseball and hockey. My brother Jim Neff and myself went to lunch today (7-14) and I was saying the song that takes me to a happy place every time I hear it is…In The Summertime, sung by Mongo Gerry. It makes me think of Steve driving around in his old black car with his mop of hair blowing in the wind, and turning that song up on the radio. We were out on summer break and just youngsters, 16-17 years old. He was the happiest, sweetest, and always so easy to be around. Never did see him mad about anything or mad at anyone. For his kids….he was voted the cutest most fun guy in Junior High. My brother Jim, just called me and said Luke had called him and said his Dad was gone! I am so sad and so sorry for all of you. I am sure he was still the sweetest, happiest, and most easy guy to be around! My heart is full of memories of his kind eyes and great laughter. I hope you can cherish all of his precious memories and keep them forever close. Love from Jim and Janine Neff (Glasco)

So very sorry to hear this news and so sad for all the family and friends. Skip worked with Steve at MSU for several months and they traveled from Helena together. Skip said the only music they listened to commuting was Pearl Jam which was Steve’s choice, not Skip’s! Skip grew very tired of that music back then but will smile every time he hears it now and will think fondly of Steve. Every week I got to hear funny stories of Steve’s antics like the time he borrowed a young teen’s skateboard to see if he could still ride one. “Excuse me partner. Would you mind if I borrowed that for a minute? I used to be pretty darn good!” The boy rolled his eyes a bit but handed Steve his board. He actually managed to stay on and didn’t break any bones and Skip got a huge laugh out of it. Beas you will be missed by many but you are with the Lord. Our hearts are with all of you.

We have so many fond memories of Steve, Yvonne, and the boys when we were all young couples with young kids living in Blue Sky Heights together as neighbors. Steve was always the story teller and life of the party, making us laugh and seeing the brighter side of life. I think heaven is a little happier place right now. God must have needed a new jokester and sports fanatic. He got one of the best.
Hugs and prayers to Yvonne and the family. He leaves an empty spot in all of our hearts.
Dan & Rhonda Burnett & Family says
Dear Steve, How do we love you? Let us count the ways…baseball, hunting, playing cards at your house, watching football games in Boulder and Helena Small Fry, jokes, stories and so many more! Our hearts have a huge hole right now. You will be missed. Our love to Yvonne, Luke, Tyler & Jordan. Take comfort in the fact you will see your Beloved again.

I went to school with Steve. He was a wonderful guy, fun to be around and made everyone smile.
It’s been years since I’ve seen him. It looks as if he led a good life and has the residue of that with family and friends.
God Bless.

John & Cherie Dahl says
Steve, Yvonne and the boys were friends for many years mainly through Neighborhood Assembly of God. For the past several years Steve would call John on his July 17th birthday and John would call Steve on his July 19th birthday. John was looking forward to this Sunday’s phone call but he will be looking up at Heaven and will see Steve’s smiling face. Many prayers are to the family from John & Cherie Dahl.

I went to school with Steve from grade school through high school, and echo the thoughts of everyone else that he was always such a nice and friendly guy in both good times and through difficulties. I hadn’t seen him for many years until he came to one of our high school reunions in Seattle, maybe 15 years ago, and was so pleased to see how happy he was, how well his life had turned out, and how proud he was of his family. I had a great time catching up with him, and had looked forward to the next chance.
My thoughts and condolences are with his entire family.

Yvonne – Larry & I are so very sorry to hear about Steve’s passing. In the words of a young friend of ours “think if the day he’s having today!” We have no way of comprehending what you’re going through but we know God is still good and He will take care of you. Please know we hold you up in our prayers! Numbers 6:24-26
Aaron & Annie Engstrom says
I have loved and appreciated Steve and Yvonne since I was young getting in to trouble with Luke and Seth. I remember when Annie and I were alone in Helena just married and Steve would call and check on us all the time. One time in particular stands out when he invited us to the lake house for a party. We had all played volleyball all day in the sun without a shirt on and I had burned pretty bad. Steve said to me, “Just because you watched Top Gun doesn’t mean you have to play with no shirt on!” Then as I was leaving he looks at my charred back and says, “Hey dude! It looks like you and the sun had a fight and you lost…..big time!” I laughed for days. I love you Steve, you will be missed. I’ll see you again someday.

My heart aches for your family! Steve was an amazing man and I know that you are all hurting more then I can imagine. My prayers are continued for you all. You did not talk to Steve very long before you knew how proud he was of his family. There is no doubt that he truly is in heaven in the pressence of our Lord. Praying that Gods peace and comfort are with you.
Much Love,
Doug Rice says
My friendship with Steve started 30 years ago. What an amazing man Steve was and in our hearts always will be. God broke the mold with Beas! The memories of going on MANY road trip sporting events together run deep. The love he had for God, Yvonne, and the pride he had for Luke….Tyler…and Jordan flowed from his heart. We had many conversations about The Lord. Missions and Royal Rangers gave Steve peace and hope for a better tomorrow. The laughter that the two of us shared on hundreds of phone calls from various parts of the country will never be forgotten. His stories were so funny he would move me to tears. There is not a shadow of doubt that Steve is in heaven. But what a void in our hearts. One day the loss will be recaptured. I am proud to call Steve special…..proud to call him a brother and friend. R.I.P.
