Teresa Ellen Nordberg passed away peacefully the morning of June 26, 2016 after an extended illness. She was returning from the American Legion Convention in Bozeman after visiting with longtime Legion friends and spending time with her new great granddaughter.
Teresa was born in Lewistown, MT on December 1, 1940 and attended Lewistown schools and married Carl L. Nordberg in Missoula on October 17, 1958. They moved to Helena in 1963 and have lived in the house they built on Peosta ever since. She worked at various grocery stores in Helena, worked as a bookkeeper for several casinos and was retired at the time of her passing. Being confined to a wheelchair and other disabilities limited her ability to do much, however she loved to try her luck on the machines while Carl was attending Barbershop or choir practice. Teresa and Carl were members of the Helena Senior Center and attended Our Redeemers Lutheran Church.
Teresa is survived by her husband Carl, children: son Kurt, daughters Toni (Greg) Sweeney and Heather (Jared) Zimmer, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest son Carl Scott.
A Graveside Service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Harrison. A reception will follow the service at the Service Club on Base at Fort Harrison. Please visit www.aswfuneralhome.com to offer the family a condolence or to share a memory of Teresa.

The world lost a beautiful soul with Teresa’s passing. She and Carl were two of my very favorite customers at the retail store I work in.
