My name is Bonnie Mohn, although my parents, Theodore and Alice Hay, named me Theodean Parker Hay when I was born on August 9, 1932. Unable to pronounce my name, my little sister, Margie Ann Broderick, called me “Bonnie,” and it stuck.
I was born and raised in Helena, where I spent most of my life. I attended Helena schools and worked at many jobs including Helena Office Supply, Buck’s Ranchwear, The Golden Cache, and Mountain Bell, retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana, and then Farm Bureau. I loved working in customer service.
I also loved the outdoors, handicrafts, and the holidays. I never missed decorating for a holiday as long as I was able. I loved many pets, but was especially fond of my last dog, Mischief.
I was fortunate to be able to stay at home as long as possible with the help of Wendy Olson, Debbie Erving, and Debbie Fink, and regular visits from my neighbors, Mary Ann & Dan Fiehrer and Ray & Alfrieda Schultz, and Meals on Wheels. Thank you so much for your friendship and kind attention to my needs.
I was preceded in death by my son, Daniel Theodore Bushnell in 1952, my father in 1964, my grandson, Jerrod Bushnell, in 1978, my mother in 1993, my sister in 2005, my son, Gregory Kenneth Ogle in 2010, and my husband, Harold P. Mohn in 2011.
I am survived by my son, Wayne (Debbie) Bushnell and their children, Lori (Brent) Metzger and their children, Kyle, Kaleb, and Kaylee, Amy (Kevin) Tenney and their children, Tyler and Emma Lyn, and Jason (Dusty) Bushnell and their children, Hannah and Caden; my daughter, Christine (Larry) Koehler, and their children, Lance Koehler, and his daughters, Sydni and Ambria; Neil (Kayce) Koehler, and their boys, Tyzer, Tanner, and Trevin; and, Kari (Randy) Parmer, and their children, Landyn and Kinslee; Greg’s widow, Bonnie Ogle, and their son, Michael, and my nephew, Ted (Barbara) Broderick and my niece, Paula Broderick, and my dear special and loved friend, Harold Lundgren.
Bonnie passed away at the age of 86 of natural causes on November 13, the same day as her son, Daniel’s birthday, which we suspect was no coincidence. Bonnie and her family thank St. Peter’s Hospice who kept her comfortable at the end of her life. Though we will miss her dearly we are consoled that she is now at peace and with many others that loved her like we do.
A service celebrating Bonnie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave.

My deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time. I hope the words at Rev.21:4 bring you comfort. It says: “God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

My Christmas mouse that Bonnie made is one of my favorite decorations. I place her on the mantel right after Thanksgiving, and I will continue to think of her when I look at that mouse.

We send à prayers for all your family in this time of grief. I am so sorry we had to miss today. I have never seen anyone work as hard as Bonnie did at her home on birch street. She put her whole yard in and then fixed meals for Harold’s mom. What an angel she was! She was always so kind to us! Thank you Bonnie!

Sincere condolences to all the family. Aunt Bonnie will always lovingly and gratefully be remembered for her multiple times of rescuing me in my childhood years. I will always fondly remember the many handmade gifts, particularly the bed doll with the beautiful flowing hand crocheted dress. She also was a fantastic cook, and watching her, I learned you could bake bacon, which is really handy when you need to make a lot to feed a crowd with healthy appetites! Aunt Bonnie left a permanent print in my heart and life that will live on forever and forever.
