Theresa grew up in Rock Springs Wyoming as part of the first generation of her family to be born in the United States after her parents immigrated from Yugoslavia. She was also involved in Civil Air Patrol outside of school. She loved going hunting and fishing with Mary’s boys and husband Harvey up on North Fork and Silver Creek and seeing her friend, Janet Tibbals, at Janet’s ranch. She attended St. Benedicts School of Nursing in Ogden, Utah graduating as an RN in 1957 to pursue what would be the beginning of a lifelong career in Nursing. She loved being a nurse and always wore the full white uniform including cap until her retirement in 1993 from St. Peters Community Hospital in Helena, Montana. In a twist of fate she would meet her husband Gene while he was a patient at a hospital that she worked at. They were married September 26th 1961 In Pinedale Wyoming. They traveled around adventuring after their marriage but one of their favorite places to go fishing was always Middle Piney Lake in Wyoming. In 1963 they had their first son Darrel who died shortly after birth. In 1969 their Second son Paul was born in Rawlins Wyoming. Their third son Todd was born in Ishpeming Michigan in 1972. In 1975 they moved to Helena Montana where Gene and Theresa would settle and raise their two boys in their North Helena Valley log home that Gene built. Every summer Theresa would take the boys on a vacation somewhere. Lagoon in Salt Lake City and local National Parks were regular destinations. Theresa LOVED to cook and had a massive collection of cook books which were her addiction. In 1998 her first Grandson, Jacob, was born to Melody and Todd in Adana Turkey and from that moment on he was the light of her life. Later Mel and Todd would adopt anther son, Quaid, in 2006 whom she also loved very much and brought great joy to her life. In her later years as her health declined from a long fight with Diabetes she and Gene would move into assisted living ending up at the Masonic Home in Helena Montana. During those years she enjoyed coming over to Paul and Nancy’s home on weekends for lunch and to watch a movie and talk. Her favorite times were when Todd, Mel and their sons would come up for a visit.
Family was always most important to Theresa and she loved them fiercely putting them first at all times and she will be missed by them very, very much.
