Thomas Carrol ‘TC’ McMaster, age 89, passed away February 21, 2025.
Born in Butte, Montana in 1935, TC came into this world with his dear parents, Margarie and Bud McMaster, giving him all the love and care they could possibly give. He had grown into a fine man with impeccable respect and love for everyone.
TC was remarkable in that he was one of the happiest, joyful and steady people you would ever meet. He lived in Helena for most of his life. He attended Boulder River School and lived with his parents the rest. His parents had set up a Trust to ensure he would have a very secure life.
In 1986 when his mother passed on, he would become a longtime resident of Tamarack group home through Spring Meadow Resources. He then moved into Touchmark Senior living facility 2 years ago. Caregivers, wherever he lived, often viewed him as their favorite. People constantly were drawn to him even though he rarely spoke; he had his own way of connecting with others. His desire to be your friend was infectious. He had been a member of Cathedral Parish but the First Lutheran Church under the guidance of Lowell Bartels’ Special Needs service where he regularly attended became his preferred church.
TC was a true book lover especially of the Star Trek books and TV shows. He would always have a few of these books in his grasp. TC would greet each new day looking forward to being around neighbors and caregivers, participating in activities, reading his books. He also loved to ride around town often visiting the wonderful ladies and Tony at Aunt Bonnie’s bookstore. No day was ever a bad day for TC; he was a shining light in all his 89 years.

I have known TC since I was a child. He was such a wonderful person to know, as were his parents, Tom and Marg. As his write up expresses, he was the happiest and kindest person alive. His parents are to be commended for giving him the most wonderful life possible. He loved them and they loved him immensely. I’m sure it was a glorious reunion when he reached Heaven.

TC was truely a good man thanks to the love of his parents Tom And Marg. They expressed unconditional love every day to TC. I first met TC as a very young boy. I could not help but feel his kindness and true love for everyone around him. Tom and Marge were extremely good parents and made sure TC would be taken care of after they were not here too see after him. Marge would hire me to wash walls and help clean, but really just wanted my company. Marge, Tom and TC were just very good people. RIP TC.
