In Memory Of

Thomas Kindrick age 75 of Helena

March 8, 1938 – May 26, 2013

Thomas Ray Kindrick (75) of Helena lost his battle with cancer at St. Peter’s Hospital on Sunday, May 26, 2013, a fitting Memorial Day weekend goodbye to a beloved Army Veteran.  Thom was born on March 8, 1938 to Ace and Doris Kindrick (both deceased) of Helena, Montana

He is survived by his sons, Brandon (Cathy) Kindrick of Paia, HI, Grey (April) Kindrick of Olympia, WA; siblings, Patricia Thompson of Redmond, WA, Kathleen (Bill) Long, Jeffery (Linda) Kindrick; grandchildren, Marc, Matt, Lacy, Tate, Mikala; great-grandson, Landon; many nieces, nephews and other family along with a multitude of friends through Bill and Bob.

Thom read every chance he got and loved to share his learnings with others.  He especially enjoyed a wide variety of philosophical and spiritual books, agreeing that his nephew, Father Stuart Long, provide  anointment into Catholicism and last rites.  Thom spent over 40 years of his life dedicating service to the Alcoholics Anonymous community of Helena. Though Thom never had much, he would lend a ride, a dollar, a book, or whatever he could to someone in need.

We all thank you for your generosity of spirit.

A private gathering of family will be held to celebrate Thom’s Life.  Please visit below to offer condolence or share memories of Thom.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of donor’s choice in Thom’s name.

Thom was a good friend, a mentor, a spiritual guide, and a gentle and very funny fellow. He has been an advance scout for me — in sickness as well as in life and in spirit. By the time he started his battle with cancer, he had lost interest in and patience with drama, and he did his quiet best to minimize the dramatics involved in his terminal disease. This community and world is a better place because of his sojourn in it. He cannot be replaced, and he will be remembered with love.

    To the Kindrick Family:
My wife and I would like to express our deepest sympathy over the loss of Mr. Kindrick. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. When we read Genesis 1:28 and 31, we find that sickness and death were not a part of God’s original purpose. How thankful we are that our grand Creator plans to restore his original purpose and make it possible for all mankind (including loved ones we have lost in death) to live forever under perfect conditions. (Revelation 21:3-5; John 5:28,29) It is our hope that these words bring you a measure of comfort during this difficult time. Once again, please accept our condolences as you deal with the loss of Thom and contemplate the hope of seeing him again.

I take comfort in knowing that Thom had a close, personal relationship with his creator. It would be hard to find a man more ready to enter into the afterlife. Much of Thom’s earthly existance was spent contemporaneously in the flesh and in the world of the spirit. For a living human to experience the spirit world is a blissful, meaningful and life changing experience. May he rest in paradise.
