In Memory Of

Timothy J. ‘Tim’ Schroeder, age 78, of Helena

February 20, 1942 – February 9, 2021

Helena resident, Timothy John Schroeder, age 78, passed away February 9th, 2021 in the Comfort Care wing of Great Falls Benefis Hospital due to complications from a head injury.

Tim was born on February 20, 1942 in Sheboygan, WI to Adolph and Mabel Schroeder.  He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963 in the 5th Engineering Battalion. Tim was a true patriot and was a strong supporter of the soldiers of United States Armed Forces.

In 1963, he met his future wife, Mary Agnes Stulc.  They were married in 1965.  They enjoyed many adventures during their 55 years of marriage.  Tim and his family lived in Hibbing, MN for 12 years where he worked as a salesman and in the Iron Ore Mines.  Tim had a gift of gab which led to a successful career as a salesman, a Manufacturer’s Representative for office furniture companies, and a shuttle driver for Helena Motors Helena Honda.

Tim enjoyed sports including playing semi-pro football on the Sheboygan Red Wings.  He played on many men’s softball teams, but especially enjoyed playing mixed couples softball (Ranger Chevrolet) with Mary and an array of lifetime friends.

Tim and Mary fell in love with the beauty and the great outdoors of Montana moving to Helena in 1981. Tim was an avid golfer, first hole-in-one last summer, and fly fisherman. He also enjoyed hiking, skiing, biking, snowshoeing, camping, and drinking brandy Manhattans with 3 olives.

Tim was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Helena for 41 years and held God close to his heart.  Tim was on the Board of Elders, Head Usher, witness for life, trouble maker trying to make all children Green Bay Packer fans and especially a great friend to everyone.  Tim was a on the Board of Directors for The Tree of Life Foundation and a participant of 40 Days for Life since 2008.

Tim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary. His daughter Marie (Glenn) Mickelson of Thornton, CO; Martha Schroeder of Tempe, AZ; brothers Carl (Roberta) Schroeder and James (Karolyn) Schroeder of Sheboygan, WI, sister-in-laws Carolyn Smith (Joseph) Plymouth MN and Elaine Stulc, Coon Rapids, MN along with many nieces and nephews.

Tim was proceeded in death by his parents, Adolph and Mabel Schroeder and eldest brother Richard Schroeder, sister-in-law, Virginia Stulc, brother-in-laws, Anthony Stulc and Theofil Stulc.

The family of Tim is grateful for all the prayers offered for Tim and the family.  We thank the prayer groups of all churches, friends and individuals we do not know.  Tim is a special husband, father, and man always placing his family and friends first.  His sense of humor and silliness will be missed.

A Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A Funeral Service is set for 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2021 at First Lutheran Church, 2231 E Broadway, followed by Burial with Military Honors at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery Ft. Harrison.

A single white rose will be placed on the casket in honor of the Unborn and Life.  In lieu of flowers, Tim asks donations be made to First Lutheran Church, First Lutheran School, Lutherans for Life, or Options Clinic. Please visit below to offer a condolence to the family or to share a memory of Tim.

I will truly miss seeing him almost daily and the playful banter we had with our respective football teams! I’m sure he’s already working on those brats to share with all who are there welcoming him. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and always. May he rest in eternal peace

Mary & girls, I always enjoyed bantering with Tim about sports, politics, religion and cooking……usually brats. Arlene & I remember when he lived in the Montana City below us and then so many times at the dealership as we were coming and going. I remember Tim was the one who recruited me to drive for Helena Buick, GMC, Cadillac & Honda. Several years later I recruited him right back into the dealership. We did so enjoy working together. I’ll also miss seeing the two of you at McDonald’s after church. When this Corona virus is behind us, I hope we can again see you there. Mary, if there’s ever anything we can do for you, don’t hesitate to call on us.

My heart breaks hearing about Tim’s passing but we all know he is in Heaven free of any pain and making everyone laugh. Tim had such a beautiful and sincere smile and personality. His faith and love for all people always showed on his face and in his actions. Tim was truly a man of God and loved sharing his faith with anyone. We will miss all the brats he has cooked for any type of event. His love for his family, God and his church was always first on his mind. Tim you were such a loving and caring man and we all will miss you horribly. I pray your family finds peace and healing knowing you are still with them forever and you will always watch over them. May God hold your family tight and help them to remember all of the funny things you did and how you were always helping someone. May we all remember your undying faith in your Savior. Rest In Peace and thank you for always having that beautiful smile on your face. You will definitely be missed. Gosh bless your family always

Mary. Marie and Martha. this is truly a sad moment in all of our lives but also a time that we can rejoice as we know his faith In JESUS has taken him home where he know leaves in perfect peace with his LORD and SAVIOR Tim is surly missed by his family and many friends but all who believe in JESUS can look forward to the day when we will all be together in the place that JESUS has prepared for all who believe. John 14:1-3 Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in GOD believe also in ME. v2 in MY FATHERS HOUSE are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? V3 And if I go and prepare a place, I will come and take you to MYSELF, where I am you may be also.

  19. Dirk, 40 Days for Life leader says

    February 13, 2021 at 7:34 pm

Tim was a big inspiration to me overcoming my anxiety about praying on the public sidewalk at Planned Parenthood. His calm yet persistent demeanor to stand up against abortion is the perfect model for Christians bringing the power of prayer to our nation struggling to recognize the shocking holocaust of the millions of our most innocent and vulnerable: babies in the womb. Dear God our Father please open our eyes to recognize this sin, as Tim did, and welcome your faithful servant into heaven. Amen.

Mary and family- I am so sorry to hear about Tim. My earliest memory is of Tim umpiring our women’s softball games. He was so friendly and fun to be around. Then in later years we became reacquainted as he was driving the shuttle. He will be greatly missed. – Donna Campbell

    Dearest Mary and Family,
Tim is a LEGEND with everyone at Helena Motors and Helena Honda. His wit and upbeat energy, his love of people and Montana, and his great faith in God made him a light to everyone he met! His love for his beautiful wife Mary and lovely family, his Green Bay Packers, for the beautiful outdoors, for the joy of every day adventures brought happiness to everyone whether at work, riding in the shuttle van, or enjoying one of his shenanigans of laughter! We respect and love Tim more than we can say. This last Christmas in bright Christmas shorts, a Christmas formal jacket, Christmas shirt, Christmas Hat and shoes and sparkle he showcased Best Ugly Sweater on the Planet! We will always remember his Burgers and Brauts and his wry jokes about growing up near Kohler, Wisconsin! He was Original! Tim was a great example of Loving Thy Neighbor every day. He will be missed so very much!

Our deepest sympathies are with you. We wish you peace in the happy memories of your time together.
