Timothy “Timmy” Eric Jensen
On August 27th 2025, Timmy passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, Mt. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by his children and closest family and friends. Timmy was 60 years old.
Timmy was born January 25th 1965 in Butte, Mt. He was soon embraced by his forever family of Jens and Alta Jensen and big brother Mark Jensen. His sister Darci, brother Matt and youngest brother Eric were soon to follow. He was an active kid, he enjoyed being outside and playing sports of many varieties. Timmy loved spending time with his siblings, he looked up to his big brother and built a very strong kinship with his other brothers and sister. He became especially close with his brother Eric, a bond that lasted into adulthood. The two of them being huge fans of the L.A. Rams could often be found watching a game together.
As an adult Timmy would later marry his good friend Gina Jensen, together they had four children. Timmy held the title of “Dad” like a badge of honor and worked very hard to provide for his family. When he wasn’t working endless hours in the Oil fields he would often work two or more jobs at once. He put his heart and soul into making sure his children were taken care of. When he wasn’t working he seized every opportunity he could to spend time with his kids.
Camping, hiking, lake days, trips to the park and long drives in the mountains, he was an endless source of fun and adventure. He enjoyed camping and sharing his stories and knowledge of the outdoors. He liked to kayak around Park Lake and hike up the waterfall. He would build giant campfires and tell his kids to look up at the night sky and comment on how some people will never get to see so many stars at once. He would say how lucky we are to live in such a place, Timmy had a way of putting the world on pause and opening one’s eyes to the beauty that surrounds them. He built strong connections with each of his children and he engaged in their interests and hobbies. Timmy was the life of the party, fun and carefree, he made family dinners an event. Making amazing elaborate feasts for his family, he would serve dinner exclaiming “It’s all in the presentation!” He knew how to bring out the sun on the dreariest of days and, if you were feeling down, Timmy would stop at nothing to put a smile on your face. A child at heart, Timmy found it easy to enjoy every moment of life.
Timmy had an immense love for music. His favorite band was “Rush” and he would often declare “Rush is the greatest band of all time!” He loved many different kinds of music and was always looking forward to the next concert he was going to attend. He had a huge collection of vinyl and CD’s, he garnished the walls of his garage with album covers and would blast his favorite tunes through his epic surround sound. He loved cruising in the mountains, and listening to his favorite songs. In a way, Timmy composed a soundtrack for his life, each song a memory of him, whether it was the melody, the lyrics or the instrumentals Timmy had something to comment on. Timmy had a way of giving each song a life, opening each one like a book and interpreting them in such a way that made each song timeless. Just like everything else Timmy did in life, he loved music in a way that made one wish they could enjoy anything even half as much as Timmy enjoyed everything he loved.
Timmy had many titles throughout his life but he was a Roughneck through and through. However, his greatest title was Dad and he took it very seriously. He faced many set-backs in his time, more than most. Humble to a fault, Timmy never let anything get him down and never wanted to worry anyone. Often taking the road less traveled, Timmy paved his own path in life. He looked at the world through a different lens and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He was very interested in history, humans and philosophy, he embraced every opportunity to expand his mind. Fearless Captain of his life that he was, he lived everyday like it was an adventure. He never shied away from something new and exciting.
It is difficult to sum up this unforgettable man in so few words, there was no one else quite like Timmy. He was always his genuine self. He was passionate, intelligent and kind. Timmy had a huge heart, he was incredibly thoughtful and would lend a hand to anyone he met. He asked for little and gave so much. He lived simply but impacted the lives of so many, he loved without judgement and gave without question. His lust for adventure, fearlessness and care-free attitude is a testament to how we should live our own lives.
If Timmy were to give you any advice it would be this: you are given one life, be yourself, live fearlessly, think critically, respect others, follow your dreams and rock on.
“You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice. If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill. I will choose a path that’s clear, I will choose Freewill” – Rush “Freewill”
