With complete grace and calmness, there were two deer that nestled outside of Tina’s hospital window on the morning of September 21, 2013. We believe this was a clear sign that it was time to let her go home to heaven. Tina passed away unexpectedly from a battle with Leukemia.
Tina was born in Butte on March 16, 1965. She was the daughter of Carol Galetti Heim and Jack Ayers and stepdaughter of Jim Heim and Dorothy Biers.
Tina was educated in Butte and graduated from Butte High School with the class of 1983. She attended Kinman University in Spokane graduating with a degree in Business. She worked at McKay Dee Hospital in Utah and Community Hospital in Missoula. She also worked for Direct TV and for The State of Montana in Butte, Missoula and Helena. Her most recent position as a Client Eligibility Specialist enabled her to assist with needy families in which she gave 100% to helping those people. She loved this job fully but had to quit because of her health.
In August of 1989 she married Sammie Sampleton. Together they had two beautiful children, Kaylyn Joyce Sampleton and Jordan Nicholas Sampleton.
On August 10, 2006 Tina remarried her BEST FRIEND Michael Boman. Mike was a devoted husband who loved Tina with every fiber of his being and was ALWAYS there for her.
Tina had many passions in life with one being her FAITH in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her two precious children were her GREATEST gift of all. Tina was all about Family. She savored every minute she could spending time with Mike, Kaylyn and Jordan. Just creating a casual day at home laughing and telling stories together is something Tina relished. She had a sensational sense of humor and could keep everyone’s attention when she talked about memories of the past. Having a BIG heart and a great memory she spent many hours being creative and preserving those precious memories in scrapbooks.
Tina was an EXCEPTIONAL daughter. Tina and her Mom shared a remarkable bond that any mother could only ever hope for. They were very close. Tina and her sister shared an unspoken connection of PURE emotions, which could never be explained or interrupted. They always knew by feeling when something was amist in their lives. They had their own language and were ALWAYS there for each other.
Tina is survived by her parents, Carol and Jim Heim of Butte, MT and Jack Ayers and Dorothy Biers of Butte, MT; her husband Michael Boman of Helena; mother and father in law, Duane and Carol Boman of Santa Rosa, California; daughter, Kaylyn Sampleton of Missoula and son, Jordan Sampleton of Minot, ND. Sister and brother in law, Jeanette and Jack Kappes of Butte, MT; stepbrother and sister, Josh and Anne Ayers of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Aimee Heim of Butte, MT; nephews and nieces, Jackson and Jonathan Kappes, Brendon and Amanda Heim; aunt and uncles, Sharon Mitchum Holling of Post Falls, ID, Gary and Cathy Galetti of Butte and Joe and Joan Davis of Plains. MT. Tina had many FOND childhood memories of her cousins, Julie and Jennifer Mitchum, Kim and Shawn Galetti and Mike, Fred and Penny Davis.
Tina is also survived by her LIFE LONG Friends, Cindy Clark and Teri Kelly whom she loved like her sisters. Tina cherished the role of Godmother to Cindy’s daughters, Hayleigh and Carleigh Garrett. Her Grandparents Sylvia and Siv Galetti and John and Tessie Ayers preceded Tina in passing.
We BELIEVE with all family and friends present, there could not of been a BETTER display of divine PRESENCE that Jesus was there watching. The deer were there to escort the golden chariot of our beloved daughter, mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend to Heaven’s Golden Gates, TINA’S new home.
Tina’s children were the PRIDE and JOY of her life. In Lieu of flowers, a support fund has been established for Kaylyn and Jordan at Wells Fargo Bank to help with many expenses they endured while she was in the hospital.
Having loved this church and her church family, a Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28th at the Sovereign Hope Church, 1919 North Ave West, Missoula, Montana. A luncheon reception will follow the services in the social hall of the Church. To offer condolences or to share a memory of Tina, please visit below.

I will miss Tina’s bright smile, her love for her family, the way she lit up the page. I will miss the conversations we had, her true sincerity and the fact she was always so kind and concerned for others. I got to re-connect with Tina when she worked for the State, and then through social media. I know how much she loved her husband Mike and children, Kaylyn and Jordan. My thought and prayers go to her family and the close-knit bond she had with sister Jeanette was always something I would think “what a wonderful relationship they had, so close” – I will truly miss my friend, Tina. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you

Although we didn’t have the chance to spend much time together, we still managed to form a friendship that has lasted over the last 6 years. I was blessed by knowing Tina. We had some good times and although we didn’t get to see each other often, we kept in contact via email and Facebook. She will be missed. I will miss her and cherish every moment that I did get to share with her for the rest of my days. God bless her family and friends.

Seeing the pictures of the deer outside her room was a calming blessing. On Sunday I too had a deer visit my back yard looking at me as though to tell me I am all well. Thank you Jesus. Tina, I miss you.

I was privileged to meet this wonderful lady when we both worked at CCS in Butte. When I started there, Tina made sure she introduced herself and made me feel welcome….right then, we became friends. One thing I will ALWAYS remember about Tina is her loving & warm smile. This precious lady never showed a scowl, frown or any other look; but a smile….Yea, she had millions to share! I am so honored to have known you Tina. I will never forget you and our treasured friendship. I’ll see you again when I get to Heaven. Look for me, ’cause we’ll have a lot to catch up on! I love you….

This tells so much of exactly what I knew of Tina. I practically lived at their house because their kids were so close to me. Her and Mike had a long running joke with me that always perked my mood. Every time I would visit, I would start snacking. They always said “feed ’em one time, and they always come back.” I will never forget that ever. I remember sitting with Tina at the dining room table and she was telling me all about her fun and crazy days when she was a teenager. She was so funny in every way. I loved watching her and my mom become so close over the years. Tina sure has made an impact in my life and she will never be forgotten. Love you Momma Tina.
Dena Bingham says

Patrick Nabors says
I met Tina not long after I moved to Missoula and I will always remember the first time I met her at the wonderful dinner party my best friend Mike Boman hosted for Tina, her sister Jeanette, and me. We all had a wonderful time with lots of sharing and laughter. I was so happy for Mike to have found someone to share his life with and it’s heart wrenching that Tina’s time with us was cut short. As a newcomer to Montana, Tina and her family readily welcomed and included me in many family and other social activities; they were now my local extended friends and family. My heart aches at Tina’s passing, and for my friend Mike losing his soul mate so soon. Tina is greatly missed by all her knew her. Tina truly was very proud of her children especially with Kaylyn making two or three missionary trips to Thailand and Jordan’s major athletic accomplishments. I remember sitting with Tina at Jordan’s homecoming football game one year and she was glowing and so proud Jordan had made All-State. Tina had a passion for helping people in need. She is loved my many and is missed by all whose lives she touched. May the grace of our Heavenly Father bring you comfort, peace and understanding.

I knew Tina through her sister Jeanette. We go way back, just starting our families in Layton, Utah. Our kids now young adults. I can remember our yard sales we had (those who know Jeanette directed Tina, Cindy and I like laying out a mini department store :-)), the invites to her scrap booking over-nighters and the annual holiday party they had every year. They always made you feel welcomed and like family. After moving east almost total opposites of the US I looked forward to Tina’s annual holiday letters updating us on the family and her new love Mike. Tina will dearly be missed but will forever remain close in heart with fond memories. For Kayln and Jordan your mom was a wonderful person who raised two beautiful, kind and loving young adults. She will forever be remembered through your presence. Love and blessings to Jeanette my dear friend, Carol and Jim and the family
