On December 29, Trapper Jeremiah Maxwell Armstrong lost his battle with Leukemia. So many that loved him had surrounded him throughout the day and night. He passed peacefully with his parents by his side.
Trapper was born in Helena, Mt. to Donald Armstrong and Roberta Armstrong (Bobby Dallo), September 22, 1989. He was their youngest child. He took his time coming into this world and was taken from us too soon.
Trapper had lived his life wild and free since he was three. He enjoyed wrestling and football as a kid and was an outstanding athlete. Trapper’s passions included hunting, fishing, folfing, and pretty much anything outdoors, and of course, Rockin’ the Rivers!
His biggest joys in life besides his beloved dog Stain were his close friends the Grove family, and other close friends Abbey, Amber, Jesse, and Seth.
Trappers crooked smile with his loving heart will forever be missed, loved, and honored.
Trapper is preceded in death by his grandparents; Jim and Jane Dallo, along with Edna Armstrong (Old Mom). His Aunt Diane Armstrong, Uncle Alan Armstrong, and Uncle Ted Streeter. Trapper joined his best friends Tanner Balbach and Kyle Grove at the gates of the happy hunting ground and they will be together again forever.
Loving survivors include brothers Jack (Brittany) Armstrong, Levi (Wendy Jaynes) Armstrong, Hunter (Jessica Cook) Armstrong, Michael (Bettani) Finch and Austin (Hailey) Grove. Many nieces and nephews include Malayiah, Malachi, Junior, Brayden, Trinity, Keaton, and Kyle. Aunt Linda (Jeremy) Glatz and Liberty. Members of Trappers extended family, too numerous to name, were all big parts of his life.
A special thanks to Dr. Weiner and the oncology staff at St. Peter’s Health.

Trapper was a joy in my life. Even from 500 miles away Trapper was a vivacious, cherished friend. I will always be thankful for his friendship to my entire family but especially for his love toward my nephew Austin. I will never forget him and always smile when thinking of him. He was a real Batman, living his life to the fullest, spreading happiness, hope and love wherever he went. I will miss him. My condolences to his family.

The Armstrong’s. My second family, I have found myself apart of your amazing family since I was in preschool. I am honored to call Trapper my little brother. So many of my life’s memories involve us three boys. From Trapper lighting my hip length casts on fire in a damn haystack fort, fishing for bulldogs off the back deck of the yellow house, Hunter splitting Traps lip with a damn golf ball, and Trapper leaving a “Reese’s” in Hunters mini fridge. The world lost a very wonderful man last week. No parent should ever have to outlive their child. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you guys! Love you all my second family!

I remember when Armstrongs lived right behind me in Townsend. Hunter and Trapper spent many hours hanging out with my boys. I will never forget Trapper’s huge smile or his wild hair! I cried when Colter told me he passed. I bet he’s got Heaven rocking with laughter though! My prayers and thoughts go out to your family.

I am heartbroken at the loss of Trapper. I saw Trapper grow from a teenager who lived life without fearing the consequences to an adult who lived life without fearing the consequences. Along the way he made us laugh. I also saw him show great empathy and love to friends who needed it and I loved watching him spend time with his friends kids. I hope his family takes comfort in knowing how much he meant to so many people.

Meeting Trapper just puts a smile on your face. Such a kind and humorous young man. My heart hurts for the loss of him in this world. But he is in a much kinder and more wonderful world than this. My deepest condolences to his family. No words can ever ease this kind of loss. May time heal your hearts and bring you peace.

Donnie & Bobby, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. The loss of a child is devastating! May God wrap you in his loving protection in the coming months of your grief and show you the way to carry on without your precious son here on Earth. (Donnie, it has been forever since I have seen you..our boys used to wrestle together back in the 80s and I so thank you for watching over mine during those trying practices when the little ones were used as fresh meat for the coach’s son!) Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Ahhh, Trapper…. what a beautiful, fun, happy kid…. I’ll never forget being at Rockin the Rivers 2010. I was facing my boyfriend, talking with him, and he kept pointing behind me until I finally turned around. You were standing probably two inches from my face, so I took a step back and said, “Do I know you?” You were grinning and nodded, your long, pretty curly hair bobbing, and for the life of me, I could not place you. The suspense was too much, so you finally told me your name, and I shrieked and threw my arms around you, and you hugged me back like the long-lost friends our families were (are). MAN, you got tall! That was one of the best moments of my life, and you gave that to me. I love you, kid, and I love your mom, dad, and brothers… but you and your crush on Rachel have a special place in my heart. Go make mischief in the Spirit World!

Don and family, I am so saddened to hear this news. It is hard to know that you are suffering so from the loss of a child. It is the worst kind of loss to suffer. It is hard for family and friends to know that there is little to be done to help lift your hearts from despair. May you find strength and comfort from them during this painful time of your lives. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless this part of your journey.

Dear Bobby and Family,
I’m so sorry the horrific loss of your precious son. I was thinking about you Bobby during the holidays, for some strange reason (something weird in the Universe I guess?). You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I hope all the dear memories you hold close within your hearts will sustain you in the days ahead. You have my deepest heartfelt sympathy.

Journey well Trapper. You will be missed by all and never forgotten. We will see each other soon, but not to soon.
Dana and Sandy Glatz says
Although we were strangers to him, Trapper cheerfully helped us out when our tail was in a crack. We missed out not getting to know him better. Our deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
Carla Amundson says
I am thinking of Trapper today. While I had him in class only a few years at Townsend Schools, I remember him as a sweet and kind boy. He was never shy to say hello in the hallway, which made him especially stand out to me as a more deeply thoughtful person. I am greatly saddened to lose Trapper to such a devastating disease. I will remember him always.
