In the early morning of June 24, 2017, Trent James Havron passed away. After a brave fight, Trent took his own life in Missoula, Montana. He was 21 years old.
Trent was born in Helena, Montana to Ann Roberts (Swenson) and Ben Havron on March 26th, 1996 at 7:32 pm. A born fighter, Trent came into this world with a congenital birth defect and had 12 surgeries, 2 life flights, and countless procedures. He faced his obstacles with grace and courage. He made his family laugh and smile, despite his pain. Through it all, he was always our brave little guy. Trent was a proud Utah Utes fan, as he considered the University of Utah his original alma mater. Dr. Snow and Nurse Debbie from Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City were an enormous part of Trent’s life and put him back together time and time again.
From his first seconds to his last days on earth, he loved to connect with people. In the delivery room Trent made eye contact with everyone in the room. He connected his big beautiful brown eyes with all of his family members and they all fell in love. During his last days on earth he reached out to each of his family members and found a personal, unique way to tell them goodbye. He did this in a way, that only Trent could orchestrate.
Trent was an old soul and to our disbelief, he began asking philosophical questions before he was in kindergarten. He had a thirst for knowledge, he was a history buff and would often spout out obscure facts like he was reading right from an encyclopedia. In fact, people many years his senior considered Trent a friend, not just a kid.
Trent was a champion for all those around him and was genuinely happy for the achievements of those he knew, no matter how small. Family was so important to Trent and he chose to eat lunch with his grandparents every day in high school. He listened intently to his great grandma’s stories. He was patient with his many younger cousins. By all accounts Trent was and exceptional young man.
Trent was the captain for the cross country team at Capital High School and after graduation, attended The University of Montana, where he was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Trent loved spending time outdoors. Whether it was hunting, fishing, hiking or talking around the campfire, his genuine spirit always shone through in nature. His favorite places in the world were Pintlar Lake, Glacier Park and Hawaii. Trent was an avid sports enthusiast who loved the same teams as his father. It was rare to see Trent without a Kansas City Chiefs hat or Nebraska Cornhuskers shirt.
Trent taught us to love and to accept, he befriended all walks of life, quite fittingly his favorite song was “Come As You Are.” Trent, you changed our lives forever when you came into this world. You were the example of what a human should be and we will move forward following your lead.
Trent was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents Gerald and Azalea Butka, Byron Roberts, Francie and Kenny Goodsell, and Jack and Betty Havron and his Grandfather Paul Rylander.
Trent is survived by his parents, Ann and Curt Swenson and Ben and Lena Havron; His great grandmother, Irene Roberts; His grandparents Bill and Peggy Roberts, Marguerite Rylander, Jim Havron, Judy and Gary Feland, and Ron and Patsy Anderson; His siblings Megan Havron, Becca, Lily and Will Swenson, Charlie Havron; His aunts and uncles, Amy (Denny) Braun, Liz (Mat)Mogstad, Katie (Danny) Church, Tammy (Shane) McMurray and Tom (Kristen) Havron, Michelle Swenson, Andy Anderson; His counsins, Anabelle Adelyn, Calvin, Zoey, Miles, Jory, Daisy, Natalie, Carli, Molly, Chloe, Harper, Carter and twin cousins on the way, and many other family and friends.
A service celebrating Trent’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A reception will follow the service in the social hall of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations sent to Primary Children’s Hospital Donations Wish List at https://intermountainhealthcare.org/locations/primary-childrens-hospital/giving-volunteering/service-projects-donations/donation-wish-list/

Ann and family,
Ann, my heart is heavy for you. You give off the same joy and giggles that it sounds like Trent emulated. I lost my nephew at age 35 for the same reason. I know the unimaginable call. Please dear lady know you are in my thoughts and prayers. He will always, always be in your heart and soul. Walk with him, talk with him, for he will never leave your heart. You will see him in ways that give you signs he’s still watching over his momma!
Take care of your “self” and know that many are sending you lots of love and hugs.

Ann Marie, Megan, Curt, Ben and all family members. I mourn with you over Trent’s return to the loving arms of his creator knowing he will always be in your hearts and memories for the good soul he was on earth and now in heaven as one whole happy person. Indeed, I have learned that life, love and death are all separate mysteries that will never be revealed to we who remain on earth. Trent now knows how much he was loved while with you all, and all other’s who loved him, and all who join him in everlasting life will come to know how much he loved all those he left behind. God Bless him. I am thankful for having known him and how bravely and heroically he faced life . I don’t regret being philosophic in his instance.
Geoff Gerrish says
