Virginia M. King passed away peacefully on May 7, 2014 following a brief battle with cancer. Virginia, Ginny, as she was known to many, joins her husband, Clarence (1985) in her eternal home. She is survived by her sons, Ron (Zoe) King, of Helena, Bill King of White Bear Lake, MN and daughter, Sandy (Rich) Granger, of Forest Lake, MN and many grand and great grandchildren.
Virginia was born in Minneapolis, MN on April 30th, 1919. She spent her early years in Iowa, where she attended High School and where she met and married Clarence. Following their marriage they moved to White Bear Lake, MN where the family was raised and lived until 2006. She spent most of her time as an at-home mother. Following Clarence’s passing she started a new venture. Now in her 60s, she began serving as an aid on a school bus for special education children. She loved those years working with the children and made new friends that she became close to. In 2006 she moved to Helena and enjoyed her time with her favorite K-9s and two great granddaughters.
She will be remembered for many things but especially for her love of animals and her ability to span many generational gaps and enjoy special relations with the younger folks and children. Her life was blessed with these special gifts.
A social gathering celebrating Ginny’s life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014 in the social hall at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave.
