We were so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing; we send our deepest condolences. Bob remembers with fondest memories of working with your mother at Van Dykes Grocery. I’ll never forget her putting candy bars in my grocery bag when I shopped there. We hope to drive over to Roundup Friday morning. Joan

Your mom had a very long life and I am sorry to see it had to end. Remember the good times and thank god you had her for all those years. I worked with your mom and Bertha from 57-59 while I was in my junior-senior school days. We had a lot of fun during those days in the “old” Van Dykes store. I also got my hair cut by your dad Ernie until I went to the miltary service. Jim

Vivian was my neighbor for 9 years at 8 South Park Av–at the Serendipity Apartment bldg. I always reminded Vivian that she was, and still is, the ‘Betty White’ of our building. Vivian was an example of how keeping active was the key to a wonderful, and long life. Vivian had the luxury to live a full life and then go to the lord with her boots on. God bless Vivian, and condolences to the family. Thank you Vivian for the Joy of knowing you. Love billyz

Vivyann, I was sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. We worked together at VanDykes Grocery on Main Street when Bill Amdor was the owner when I was in High School. I worked in the meat dept. for a while & then Bill moved me to stocking shelves & delivering groceries–while I still had all my fingers!! We had a lot of fun with lots of good memories. What a great place to start your working career. Your dad, Ernie, gave me a lot of flat-top haircuts.
