Precious, beautiful, and strong, Walt Woodrow Hunthausen was born on November 22, 2016. Although he lived for just six hours, the incredible mark he left on the souls of all who met him will never fade. Walt’s mommy and daddy have completely broken hearts, but they feel certain that he is now spending every moment being cared for by his grandma Harriet, and playing with his brother and sister who got there before him. Walt also has a brother and sister still living on this earth. Luther and Klara miss him greatly and wish he could be here with them. Sweet little Walt will never be forgotten, and he will forever be deeply, deeply loved.
We miss you so much, Baby Brother.
Walt is survived by his parents Dan and Keeley Hunthausen, older brother Luther Raymond Hunthausen (6), and older sister Klara Jane Hunthausen (3); maternal great-grandparents Audrey Scott and Bob and Lorraine Olson, grandparents Mike and Tami Scott, uncle Nathan Scott (Younghee), and cousins Adam and Sarai. Paternally, Walt is survived by his grandpa Tony Hunthausen, uncles and aunts Tony Hunthausen (Jan), Kathleen “Aunt Tadsa” Hunthausen, Bill Hunthausen (Maureen), Mary Cristiani (Dean), Denny Hunthausen (Michelle), Paula Hunthausen, Andy Hunthausen (Pam), John Hunthausen (Amy), cousins Scott, Drew, Chelsea, Ryan, Katie, Letisha, Deanne, Will, Sarah, Julie, John, Hannah, Andy, Seth, Noah, Kris, Derek, Amanda, Max, Ben, Allie, Dutch, Cassidy, Jack, Ollie, Gracie, Sylas, Lucy, Henry, Matthew, Paul, Tristin, Emily, and many, many, slightly more distant cousins in the extended Hunthausen families (including Walsh & Stergar) that are too numerous to name.

Kathleen (and all the Hunthausen Family) I am so terribly sorry of the passing this sweet innocent baby Walt. I am sure he touched your life for the few short hours that he was here on earth. I am sure he is resting the arms of our Blessed Mother and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Please accept my heartfelt love and sympathy during this time of great loss.

Dan and Keeley,
Walt must have been a saint to only have to stay on earth such a short time. Tenderest of all mercies to you both. Please please lean back on the prayers and love being offered to you from so many in your community. Time. Time and grief. May you be gentle and merciful to each other and allow help and kindness from others, for a long time to come.
With love and care,

A Precious life gone too soon . It is my prayer that the family receives comfort from the words of the Great Comforter God . He says “While you throw all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you .” 1 Peter 5 : 7.

Dan and Keeley – Ann and I are so sorry about the short time Walt spent in this life. It is hard to imagine a more sorrowful experience for any parents. May the clouds roll back in time and the future be bright for you and your family.

I love you and your little ones all so much, and your family constantly reminds me of how very blessed I and my family are.
