Walter Zezeus, husband of Susan Zezeus, father of Deidre Loyda, Dean Zezeus, Darcy Kreamer and grandfather of fourteen, passed away at his home in Jefferson City on June 7, 2013. Walter’s death was unexpected but blessedly peaceful.
Walter Zezeus was born in Pulaski, WI on a dairy farm and never lost the work ethic that working on a farm required. In his teens his parents sold the farm and moved to Tacoma, Washington. Walter joined the Air Force during the Korean War but mustered out to continue his math studies at St. Joseph’s Seminary. After completing his mathematics undergraduate degree Walter worked as an engineer in the aerospace industry where he met and married his wife Susan. Shortly thereafter Walter went back to school and earned his Master’s degree in Mathematics at the University of Utah and was hired as a math teacher in the Milwaukee Public School system. He worked there until he retired in 1994.
After retiring Walt and Sue moved to Jefferson City, MT in order to be near their daughter Darcy, who had moved there to start her family with her husband Jeff. That effort was typical of Walt and Susan, who supported their three children with relentless energy and enthusiasm throughout of their lives. Walter was a daily communicant in his retirement and loved the Catholic Church. He fought for every soul entrusted to him and we are confident that he is fighting still, reunited in death with his wife Susan, whom he grievously missed since her passing in 2010.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anne Zezeus. He is survived by his five sisters and his three children, Deidre (Peter) Loyda, Kalispell, MT, Daughter; Dean (Margaret) Zezeus, Newport, RI, Son; Darcy (Jeff) Kreamer, Jefferson City, MT, Daughter; and 14 Grandchildren.

You and your families are in our thoughts and prayers. You were all so blessed to have such a wonderful man as your father! Your dad was so good to me and my young family when we first moved to Germantown. Dear Walt,
God granted your wish for a peaceful death. Now you can join mom and dad ( Frank and Anne Zezeus ), grandma and grandpa ( Leon and Louise Zezeus) and your beloved wife for a real party with the Lord. One humours memory I will always remember is when you meet someone new you would always
introduce yourself and say your full name in Polish. I also remember in high school how as other people checked out novels you checked out math books walking around the house reading the most captivating story you loved math so much. You always had a since of humor making a birthday cake for me when we lived together in New Mexico that was baked in a pot and one inch high. So many memories brother. See you on the other side. Love your sister Margaret from Tacoma, Was.

Dear Deidre, Dean, Darcy & loved ones:
My husband Dave and I are grieving with you and your families at this time of loss and healing. I will never forget the wonderful gatherings we had with all of you in Germantown on holidays and special occasions. Walt and Sue were two of the most loving, caring and generous people I have ever had the good fortune to know and love. I hope that three of you, who were fun loving, entertaining and lovable children when I knew you, will carry on the legacy of faith and generosity of your wonderful parents. May we all meet again some day in this life or the next. I will love and remember all of you forever.
Sincerely and sending hugs to you.
Love, Margaret Hart (Clovis, CA)
Peter H. Loyda says
Dear Walt,
As your son-in-law, you always treated me as one of your own. I have so many fond memories spending the summers with you during my college days painting homes to earn extra monies. You would carry that 5 pound bucket of paint like a feather. You always took time to talk with me, give me sound advice and shared the Lord’s amazing message. You and Susan were an amazing and important part of my life. Deidre, Jordan, Joshua, Jessica and Joseph (Bubba) all think of you often and we reminisce our treasured time in your company. May you meet up with Susan and be at peace. I know that you are in God’s hands, which gives me great comfort and joy. I will do my best to love, honor and cherish your daughter, my wife, Deidre, for all the days of my life. You and Susan were role models and mentors for how great parents and how great couples should be. Your teachings will live on forever as I share your ways with my own children, which will continue to carry on. Thank you for all of your love, guidance and endless support. You are in my daily prayers. I truly miss you.
Love, Peter Loyda
