Willis (Will) Junior Stelter passed away peacefully into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 6, 2020. He was 88. Will was born on March 15, 1932 in Wibaux, Montana to Elise Brothers Wolcott Stelter and William Stelter. Will graduated from Wibaux County High School in 1950 and shortly thereafter entered the Army. He served for three years serving in the Korean War. Will was discharged from the Army on April 9, 1954. Will and Ruth Quale were married on April 16, 1954 In Portland, Oregon. (later divorced)
In 1981 Will purchased a lot in the American Bar Subdivision on Upper Holter Lake and was able to enjoy many happy years there. He made good friends in the neighborhood and enjoyed many barbeques on the back deck.
On October 14, 1998 he married Margaret Hahn. They enjoyed 22 happy years together, splitting their time between Montana, Arizona, and Texas.
Will was a man of many talents, but most importantly was his skill at trout fishing. He taught many to fish (including his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren) and swore by only a worm and a spinner. Will would laugh when someone would show up with a fancy fly or lure, he was always the one to catch the most fish.
Will is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wesley Stelter, Bobby Stelter, Harold Wolcott, Glenn Wolcott and Vern Wolcott. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret Stelter, and her children Albert (Jeanie) Hahn, Edward (Sandy) Hahn, Vernon Hahn, Karen (Roger) Karuse, Henry (Robbin) Hahn, Jacob (Kirsti) Hahn and Will’s children John (Laurie) Stelter, Jay Stelter, Karen (Bob) Antonick and Joni (Jeff) Jensen, 23 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and his brother, Harvey Wolcott. He is also survived by his special family members, the Wolcotts from Seattle, who spent summers at the lake fishing.
Thank you to the staff at Renaissance Senior Care who took such good care of him in his last days. We would also like to thank the staff at the VA Fort Harrison (who cared for him during his recent hospitalization), Dr. Dill of Helena, all the hard-working nurses, and hospice. We would also like to recognize and thank Randy Reed, for driving Will when he could no longer drive himself.

I felt compelled to google Will and learned of his passing just recently. It has been years but he gave me joy to learn his life was long and full. Will was always kind and overly patient with me, his son John would confirm that. My respect and heart goes out to Will and his family. Scott Lund
