Bill was a great guy and so much help to students and fellow staff at NB School where I had the chance to work with him for several years. He was a huge contributor to Mendota VB success coaching at the junior high and and high school lower levels preparing the girls for varsity play. I coached basketball at NB and MHS and appreciated Bill’s accurate score keeping during those seasons. Condolences to all family and friends of Bill, too. And I don’t recall ever having to solve a math problem before on a funeral home site as is the case to complete this post. Fitting and I can imagine Bill smiling about it.
Beverly Richardson says
I am so sorry to hear this. Bill was a kind man and wonderful colleague. My sympathy and prayers to the Carr family.
Karen Schmidt Happ says
Thoughts and prayers to the Carr family. Bill was my seventh grade math teacher as well as a fellow coach and teacher while teaching in the district with Bill. Always had a smile and many times a “joker”. Always called me Schmitty even after my name changed. Bill was a joy to be around.
Kathy Ganschow says
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Carr family. All three of my children had Bill as a teacher and enjoyed him in class. I subbed at Northbrook and taught one year there. I remember his great sense of humor.
Larry Loebach says
Our thoughts and prayers for you at the loss of Bill. I have not seen him since LP high school.
Stephen Kirby says
My parents told me once that the first word I ever spoke was “car.” They also told my twin and I that the only time we said this word was right about the time school let out… The Carr’s were our very first neighbors. Bill always had a smile on his face when he greeted us. To me, Bill had a beautiful patience about himself. He also seemed to care very deeply about the students who entered into his classroom. I always thought going to school was a task and often times, a dull one at that. But when I entered into Mr. Carr’s classroom it was an honor. I always could measure my dad by the friends he kept and when I realized Mr. Carr and my dad were friends that really reflected a great deal of worth in my eyes. Mr. Carr will always outshine most in his ability to put others first, to make others think they can – even though doubt may surround them entirely. I wish I had spent more time getting to know him. For now, I just really appreciate the time God gave us so we could witness his passion in teaching others. Empowering others. Thank you Mr. Carr for all you gave.
Monty Da Ronco says
He was a good teacher who was soft-spoken, patient, and had a mellow chuckle. Those of us who had him as a teacher were lucky.
