William Thomas “Willie” Chaney, age 39, of Helena went to be with his heavenly father Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Willie was born in Whitefish, Montana September 23, 1971 to Thomas K. and Linda (Wimer) Chaney.
Willie was a small engine mechanic and enjoyed working on just about anything that had a motor. Willie also enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Helena. Willie was married two different times in his life. His first wife was Becky Nicholson of Havre and his second wife was Diana Brown of Helena.
Willie was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Chaney; brother, Kenneth James Chaney; half-sister, Deann Wiese; maternal grandmother, Bonnie Moline; paternal grandmother, Iona Chaney; maternal grandfather, Gerold Archambeau and paternal grandfather W.E. Chaney.
He is survived by his father, Thomas K. Chaney (Patricia Jones-Chaney) of Helena; mother, Linda Wimer (Thomas) of Geraldine; 2 daughters; aunt, Sherrie Shanks of Kalispell; friend, Dessa Shortman of Great Falls and numerous cousins and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Willie’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 11 at First Baptist Church, corner of 8th and Warren. A reception will be held in the church immediately following the memorial service. Burial will be 4:00 p.m. at Forestvale Cemetery.
