Wyman was born in Helena, Montana May 19, 1976 to Kimberlee and Dave Hewitt. He was raised in Clancy, Montana where he attended Clancy Elementary and later went on to Jefferson High School where he enjoyed playing basketball and football.
Wyman was always the gentle giant, with quick witted dry sense of humor and infectious laugh that could always bring you a smile. He was always surrounded by friends and family and exceeded in making people feel loved and cared for. Wyman had an uncanny capability to remember lines from movies, random facts and always dominated at a good game of Trivia.
Wyman also enjoyed the time he spent working at the Brew House and as a salesman for the Montana State Lottery where he was quick to make friends and form life long bonds. Above all Wyman’s biggest joy was watching his son Cooper participate in sports. Their yearly summer family vacations to Flathead Lake were some of Wyman’s favorite memories made.
Wyman was preceded in death by his grandparents Boots and Bruce Hewitt and is survived by his son Cooper Hewitt, sister Tiffany Hewitt, mother and father Kim and Dave Hewitt, his former wife, Patty Keating Pace, his grandparents Bob and Shirley Clausen, aunts Kathy (Kevin) Krebsbach, Kristi (Mark) Jacoby, uncle Kirk Clausen as well as numerous beloved cousins and uncountable friends.
In Lieu of flowers or gifts please send donations to the Wyman Hewitt Memorial fund for Cooper Hewitt’s continued education at Valley Bank of Helena. Please bring a copy of your favorite photo of Wyman to help us celebrate his life.

Dave, Kim and Tiffany, I’m so sorry to hear of Wyman’s passing. I am home for the summer visiting my family in Clancy at this time. A fun memory for me is when Tiffany would bring Wyman’s music tapes to grade school and we young girls would all gather around Tiffany’s portable tape player at recess and listen to his hip music. Oh that was the coolest thing ever! Def Leppard comes to mind! 🙂 I had wished soooo much that I too had a such a cool older brother and access to all of his cool older brother things 🙂 Later in life as an adult I visited with Wyman about how his sister was doing and he was so proud of you Tiffany.
Wishing your family peace,
M. Yap.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Wyman. He was such an amazing guy, loved by many. He was like a little brother when he, Kurt and Brian were together, we would always banter back and forth, he was not shy about poking fun. Will always remember the trip to the NCAAs with him when he went for the first time. We always cherished that memory because we had such an awesome time. He, Brian and I always talked about doing it again in Spokane, but it just never worked out, even talked many times about going to Seahawks games together. Just know you all are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish i could be there Wednesday, unfortunately i am overseas. Brian will be there representing. Stay Strong.

Sue Casey says
Dear Kim and Dave: I was shocked to learn of Wyman’s death. What a tragedy! Dave and I send our sincere condolences to you and the rest of your family. I remember meeting Wyman when we ran into your family at Grand Targhee in the mid-1980’s. After skiing, the resort put on a family Casino night using fake chips that could be used to “buy” skiwear, trinkets, etc. at auction after the gaming was finished. None of us knew a darn thing about shooting craps but my Dave got into a hot streak throwing dice. Wyman and his friends latched onto that and bet with Dave for a long time. Everyone won a lot “money” and the kids had so much fun at the auction, almost as much fun as we did watching them! My Dave still has the ugly hat he “bought” cuz it brings back so many great memories. It was a pleasure watching Wyman grow into the fine man he became. He will be missed by many.
Love and prayers, Sue and Dave Casey

What a sad way to get together but also an honor to us that knew Wyman. Please accept our sincere condolences. Robert and Katherine Farrar

Lance Foster says
What a trusted friend whom I share a common bond with in that our son’s who are also cousins, were born just weeks apart. Despite my departure from Montana several years ago, Wyman and I kept in touch. Doing so only made sense given the foundations that were laid during my time there. In honor of his life and his positive influence on me, I thought I would share a few of memories that come to mind during the 15 years I was privileged enough to know him.
1. 2 years ago when his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys played the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle, Wyman met me at one of the bars in the stadium as I finished watching the Saints game. I remember thinking he would miss the opening kickoff to the very game he came to see yet he never flinched as we sat there and laughed about old times while watching Drew Brees try in vain to bring the Saints back against a determined Carolina team. I should have told him how much I appreciated that but a large part of me believes Wyman already knew. More so, after the game he came by our hotel and stayed for awhile giving me more laughs than I could have asked for. Needless to say, I don’t think my wife got a word in edgewise between our blabbing.
2. His mind was a catalog of movie lines that he could summon in an instant for just about any situation. The true value in this was that it gave rise to laughter even when circumstances were less than stellar. This was a talent that could diffuse the worst of circumstances and very much made him the Chief Diplomat for the fraternity of men he bonded with.
3. His phone call in February of 2010 after the Saints had finally won a Super Bowl stating, “Lance, your Saints only have 4 more to go before they catch the Cowboys”. At the time this call was made we had not spoken in awhile and I remember thinking how awesome it was that he remembered just how much that night must have meant to my family.
4. In 2001 he gave me a “Ten Year Beer” for Christmas that was not to be opened for exactly 10 years. As I moved around the country, this bottle followed me finding residency in various U Haul boxes only to be placed on a mantle once I settled. Here I am, finally back home along the Gulf Coast and staring at this blue bottle wondering what is to become of this offering. Considering I have long since missed the 10 year mark, perhaps I will keep its contents sealed and allow it to be the memorial token of a friend I loved very much.
I want you to know that like so many, I walk in your footsteps of love and of loss and I do so with honor and pride. Thank you for the bottom of my heart for availing such an amazing person to the world.
Sincerely,
Lance

Cooper – I can only imagine how horrible it would be being a teenager and losing my dad. There is not enough sorrow to express how I feel. I am saddened by your loss and hope that with time you are able to remember all the good times you shared with your dad.
Kim and Dave – Our children are not suppose to leave this world before us. When our children are healthy and suddenly taken from us, there seems to be no acceptable explanation. The support you are receiving from family and friends will hopefully help you through this great time of sorrow. They say time heals all wounds but I don’t think in all cases it does. There will always be an ache, and that is ok.
Tiffany – I am sorry for the loss of your brother. I have not suffered the loss of a sibling but can imagine the tremendous heartbreak it brings. You have excellent parents to help bring you through this difficult time. You will all need to be there for each other as people grieve in different ways and different lengths of time. I am so sorry for your loss.
All of Wyman’s other relatives and friends – I hope you find some comfort in knowing how much Wyman meant to everyone he knew and whose lives he touched. A tragic and unforeseen death is never easy to deal with so reach out to others who are sharing your grief to find comfort and help you through this difficult time.
My thoughts are with you all!
