God called his good and faithful servant, Allen T. Anderson, to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Andy had been working through a lengthy recovery at St. Peter’s Hospital where he peacefully passed away.
Andy was a Helena entrepreneur who over the years was the owner of three businesses. More importantly, he was a kind and humble man who devoted himself to God. For more than 50 years, Andy served as a minister, teacher, song leader and elder in the Helena and South Hills churches of Christ, where so many relied on his godly wisdom and council. It was always a joy for him to help and encourage others. As a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Andy had a deep, abiding love for his family. His inviting smile, firm handshake and inescapable hug accompanied words of pride and appreciation, assuring each family member of his deep affection.
Andy was predeceased by his son, Randy Anderson, siblings Curtis Anderson and Mary Louise Hultgren. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dee; his children, Tom (Glenda), Denny (Kim), Shaun (Dara) and daughter-in-law, Kathy Anderson; his grandchildren, Kerri (Robert), Darci (Dub), Jeremy, Carly (Andrew), Staci (Travis), Brianne, Cory, Delaney (Sam) and Braedee; his great grandchildren, Audrey, Emma, Lola, Rori and Ryley, a brother Alton Anderson (Sharon) and a sister, Ethyl Sawtelle (Dan).
The family would like to express sincerest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff on the oncology ward at St. Peter’s Hospital for their very capable and tender care.
A memorial service celebrating Andy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17th at the South Hills Church of Christ, 2294 Deerfield Lane, Helena. A reception will follow the service in the social hall of the church. Please see below to offer a condolence to the family or to share a memory of Andy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Hill Church of Christ at 2294 Deerfield Ln., Helena, MT. 59601, God’s Love at 533 N. Last Chance Gulch, Helena, MT. 59601, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

My heart is so sad over the loss of this wonderful man. His sneaky sense of humor spoken in a soft voice followed by a mischievous grin is something I will always remember about Andy. He was one of the few people I’ve ever known that never seemed to judge others. Hugs and prayers to all of you his loving family.

I remember Andy and Dee from way back in the ’70’s. He was always so kind, warm and welcoming when we visited in Helena, including just last year. He was a Godly man who could confidently say, “I have fought the good fight and therefore there is a crown of righteousness laid up in heaven for me.” “Blessed are those who die in the LORD!” Thoughts and prayers for the whole family as they adjust to his being gone.
David & Shirley says

Words cannot begin to express my heartfelt and eternal gratitude I have for Andy (and Tom) for all the help they were to me in helping me get my mobile home set up in its current location. Andy worked tirelessly and was such a shining example of the Love of Christ in human form. He always had an infectious smile and loving eyes as he would greet those who attended church services and when you would see him out in the community. Our loss is truly Heaven’s gain. My prayers are with Dee and all her family. Andy, you ran your race like a true champion for the Gospel. Well done.
