Betty Lou Wray went home to be with her Heavenly Father on May 10, 2023, she was 87 years old. Betty was born on October 1, 1935 in Merkle, Texas to Mae Belle Reynolds and Travis John Callahan.
In her younger days she was a Kern County deputy sheriff in Bakersfield, California and a Corrections Officer in Juneau, Alaska at the Lemon Creek Correctional Facility. Later she and her sister, Beverly, started the Gingerbread House, a day care center in Juneau. They owned the center for the next seventeen years. She loved babies and children and never passed up an opportunity to hold a baby or sit and play with a child.
Betty loved her time living at Touchmark. She served as a Resident Ambassador and was part of several activities including church. She was also a member of Big Sky Fellowship in Helena.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Mae and Travis Callahan; her husband, Jack Wray; son, Steven Tidwell; grandson, Jacob Lewis; siblings, Barbara Brannan, Kenneth Callahan, Don Callahan and Robert Callahan.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Tormey (Haynes) and Lori Croteau (Joe); her bonus children, Jeffrey Wray (Christina), Debbie Lewis (Mark), Susan Endicott (Eric) and John Wray (Trish); siblings, Richard Callahan (Pam), Beverly Harker (Paul) and niece, Amanda Weeks and Amanda’s children. Betty is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Touchmark, 915 Saddle Dr, on Saturday, May 27, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Betty Wray was the first to welcome my mom, Mary Broadhurst, at Touchmark. She was a gracious, lovely person, a bright light to all who were around her. We will miss seeing her smiling face. Rest in peace Betty.
