Beverly B DeWitt-Daly passed peacefully Monday morning, December 1, 2014 at Aspen Gardens, her home for the past 3 years. Beverly was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 27, 1923 to parents Jerome and Ada Bloom Cohen.
Beverly had a zest for life from the beginning. Singing was her focus from a very young age. She spent time in the Pacific in World War II as a member of the OSS and USO entertainer. After returning to the states she continued her singing career which gave her opportunity for travel which she enjoyed. Along with her singing she attended college, entered into several marriages, had two sons and operated several businesses which spanned from New York, Florida, Las Vegas, Arizona, California, Minnesota and Montana. Bevie and husband Chuck DeWitt moved to Helena in December of 1968 and fell in love with Montana. Beverly owned and operated Beverly’s Unique Gifts in the Colonial Hotel for several years.
Bevie packed 10 lifetimes of experiences into this life. She lived life with a passion. She shared her love of laughter, especially at herself, music, sports, flare for fashion and much more. Her motto was to live life to its fullest, to have fun, laugh and be happy – and she did!
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers Paul Shipton and Sandy Kohen. She is survived by sons Paul and Stanley Roth and families; sister Charlotte Roberts; Sister-in-law Marissa Shipton and Martha Kohen; nieces Sandy Roberts Morgan and family and Karla Bryant and family; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and dear friend Marjie Sanders.
Graveside service will be held at Fort Harrison Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 with reception to follow at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home at 3750 North Montana.

Bev was a wonderful and caring person. Bev and Chuck were very good friends of my parents, Tom and Lila back in the day.
At least once a year I make what I call “Bev’s Chili”. This is made from a special “secret” chili recipe Bev so generously shared with me. Along with all her other talents she was a great cook.
I will always remember Bev for all the kindness she showed at the passing of my parents and the other friends in that fun group of people. What a gal !

Beverly was my Grandmother. I never saw her much but for a brief time she came back into our lives in 1995 when her Great Grandson, was born. The ironic thing was I was trying to locate her not more than a week from getting the news that she passed. I hope she is now at peace and singing with the birds. As I recall she was a free spirit who enjoyed a good cocktail and lively conversation. I am a musician and one of the good memories I have is, while she was visiting, as previously mentioned , her and I sang songs in the back yard. on a warn spring day. It was a moment I will always hold dear to my heart. Take care Beverly. I only wish you made yourself more available to your family all those years.
