Donna Lindquist, 88, passed away peacefully on April 10, at her home in Helena, surrounded by members of her family. She was lovingly cared for by her granddaughter, Gina (R.N.), her son, Jeff, Home Health and Hospice of St. Peters.
Donna was born on January 25, 1926 to Oliver and Alice Glover, and lived in Clancy until after her high school graduation. She was the youngest of six children. Donna met Norman F. Lindquist in early 1945. They were married on December 29, 1946. Donna and Norman were blessed with twins, Marilynn and Jeff, born on August 25, 1947.
Throughout her life, Donna contributed to the war effort be her involvement in the War Bond Program. Donna started her professional career in Spokane, Washington, at the telephone company. She also worked at the Helena Chamber of Commerce and for several local attorneys. Additionally, she had a 30 plus year career with the Lewis and Clark County Attorney’s office as the legal secretary.
Donna is survived by her two children, daughter Marilynn Barnes (Marvin), and her son, Jeffrey Lindquist; seven grandchildren: Gina Riegle , Jason Barnes (Sarah), Lyndsi Barnes, Megan Barnes, Shauna Albrecht, Shawn Lindquist, and Paige Lindquist; seven great grandchildren: Brandon McBride, Ashley McBride, Jeff McBride, Caleb Barnes, Josiah Barnes, Jaidyn Barnes and Olivia Albrecht; five great-great grandchildren: Andre’ Riegle, Isaiah Riegle, Morgan Riegle, Taiya Riegle and Nolan McBride, and numerous nieces , nephews and cousins. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Norman (Norm) Lindquist, her parents and her five siblings.
Per Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A small family memorial celebration at the Elliston Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Donna’s name to the charity of donor’s choice.
