George Alfred Hall, age 79, of Helena, passed away in his sleep January 21, 2017 in his home.

George was an avid outdoorsman. He hunted elk, deer, buffalo, and fished with his family his whole life. George loved family and spending time with them at the “cabin” on the Smith River. He was loved dearly and will be missed greatly. We will miss his many exploitations and grand stories.

Ann, Casey, Lyla and family: What a great man we all looked up to as kids, riding his buss you always knew no one would pick on you and you got there safely. I remember he was the only bus driver my rowdy cousins could get a long with. George and Lyla thanks for supporting us kids through HS rodeo. You will be missed. Sending you all love. Lissa

I think I knew George as Butch in grade school at Largent school in Great Falls. I remember him as a nice but tough kid. I remember him especially because he pulled me out from under a car when I slipped on ice and couldn’t get up and car couldn’t stop. He probably thought nothing of it….But I remember it. Thanks, Butch.

Heaven gains a Legend! The tales that will be told :). I am so grateful to have known such an extraordinary man who would do anything for his family and a friend in need! Visiting him last June, he looked as handsome and youthful as ever, with a twinkle in his eyes and that oh so contagious laugh. I know Butch will guide our country from above, and I believe he was called home to help get the job done!
Lyla and Ann, I miss you all so much! You have my love and prayers – Marcie
