Our mom Gerry, passed away into Jesus’s arms February 15th, 2022, surrounded by her family. Gerry Mae was born August 14, 1941, to Charles and Marjorie Cloud; the youngest of three children. Gerry grew up in the Helena valley and met and married the neighbor boy across the dirt road, Fred Synness. They had eight children, four boys and four girls. They divorced and she later married Jake Oatman. Mom, Grandma Gerry, was silly and fun and always had us laughing. She was the queen of puns and had a very sharp wit! Mom’s main job was being a mother, grandma and great- grandma.
She had many jobs around Helena including Gertie’s Drive-In, Tempo, Albertsons, and the State of Montana where she retired at age 62. Gerry had many passions in life including photography, fishing, horses, camping, but most of all her family! Mom is preceded in death by husband’s Fred and Jake, her parents, Charles and Marjorie, brothers John and Mike Cloud, daughter Debra and son Kelly. She is survived by son Tom (Janet), son Tim, (Lois) son Keith, daughter Deedee (Dean), Kathey, Candace, (Jeff) and several grandkids and great grandkids. There was always laughter when she was around, and we always promise to face things with a smile and a joke just like she did. We are glad she is dancing with Jesus.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday, February 19th, at Saint Mary Catholic Community, 1700 Missoula Ave. A reception will follow the Mass at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave., Helena, MT.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pad for Paws at P.O. Box 287, Helena, MT 59624.

Gerry always had a joke to tell me, starting when I was about 7 or 8 years old. She was fun to be around and very funny.

I am so sorry for your loss. Gerry was my Mother in law Ann Bethke’s room mate while they were both in Clancy. She was such a sweet lady always enjoyed her.

I went to school with Gerry Cloud, then re-met her (Gerry Oatman) when she worked at Walmart. What fun we had and the stories to share. She will be missed by all for her laughter and wit. Rest in Peace, kiddo
