Harold P. Mohn passed away at the age of 71, surrounded by his family, on February 18, 2012 after suffering from a recent stroke. He was born to Paul K. and Forest E. Mohn on October 29, 1940 in Havre, Montana.
He attended grade school and high school in Havre and college in Bozeman. He started his work years at Mini Glacier Hotel in Glacier Park. In 1960, he moved to Helena where he worked with his father in building maintenance at the Placer Hotel. After leaving the hotel he worked briefly in construction before returning to building maintenance at St. John’s, and then St. Peter’s Hospitals. He then became a boiler inspector for the State of Montana, and finally retired from his position as Building and Grounds Supervisor of Maintenance, Division for the Montana Department of Transportation.
He married Bonnie Hay in 1965 and they made their permanent home in Helena. Harold enjoyed hunting, camping, going into the back country on horseback with his son-in-law, and loved fishing from his boat. After retirement, he loved spending time traveling in his motor home with his wife. For those who knew him best, they would probably say he had an opinion of his own, but loved him for the person he was.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and most recently, his son, Greg Ogle. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Mohn; daughter, Chris (Larry) Koehler; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Ogle; grandchildren, Lance Koehler, Neil (Kayce) Koehler, Kari (Randy) Parmer, and Michael Ogle; six great-grandchildren; and other family members including children, grandchildren, cousins, and nieces.
Please join family and friends in celebration of Harold’s life at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home on 3750 N. Montana Avenue. A reception will be held in the social center of the funeral home immediately following the service. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.aswfuneralhome.com

I just learned that Harold had died. I really liked him. I often stopped and visited with him during coffee breaks when we both worked in the Highway building. He would say I’ll bet this or that, just in saying what he believe to be true. I would turn it into a bet. We bet pops, coffe, or breakfast and I won often enought that he was uncertain he would win. Sometimes I would challenge his I’ll Betcha just to give him pause. I made him cautious but it was a game. I treated him with the same coffee, pop or breakfast that he lost on another day to keep us “even”. It was a friendship wager and there was no winner or loser. He was a very personable man and I am sorry he is gone.
Bonny, I don’t forget my friends and if you need help with something let me know
Sincerely,
Bradley Bruce

Dear Bonnie and Chris,
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. How we wish that we could be with you!
We’re so glad that we got to visit you in your home the summer of 2009 when we had our trip to Montana.
We have good memories of the family reunion that Harold and Bonnie hosted in 2001 at Glacier. He was hoping to plan another family reunion and we do appreciate all his efforts to get the cousins together.
With loads of love,
William and Alma (Armstrong) Gasser
