Irene was my neighbor on 5th Ave during the mid 70’s to the 90’s. She was always a delight and you never quite knew what the conversation was going to be. Irene was a very caring neighbor in her own way. We had an older gentleman across the street that if he was ill, she made sure he had soup and was someone was looking in on him. Also she had the most beautiful and manicured lawn. Heaven help her lawn service that wasn’t up to her standards. Think our lawn drive her crazy. I missed seeing her after I moved.

When Patricia passed away, Irene mailed a condolence card and cash. Irene frequently asked if I had received the card. What happened is the card went to the Great Falls mail processing center, sent to a town in South Dakota with a similar zip code, back to Great Falls then onto Helena. It was ten days of drama.
I will miss Irene supervising chores.

Irene was the back neighbor to my grandmother Mabel Fabian, for many many years. When I would visit one of my favorite things to do was to go to Irene’s through the little gate the when between their back yards. I have so many great memories of time spent in her house and her great cooking!!! She was a great lady and had a love of pink just lke Mabel. I feel sad that I did nit ever get a chance to see Irene again, its been a long time, but I have picrtures and memories. To her son that I knew as K, thanks for taking me for Ice cream when I was a little kid!!! Prayers to you. I loved your mom!!! Michelle Zigler(Mabel’s grandaughter)
