Karen Jean Annas hailed from Helena, Montana. She was born on June 6th, 1956 to Dorris and Sam Annas. Karen was the youngest of six children and relished every minute of it. She graduated from Helena High in 1975 and then went to attain her accounting degree from Helena College. Karen worked at Wells Fargo in Helena for several years, followed by a position at First Student, helping to get kids in school.
Karen had many special memories with her good friend Karen Huffman. Their bond began in high school and have been like sisters ever since; their friendship never wavered. Karen Huffman’s love and support meant the world to the Annas family.
In 1995, Karen brought her pride and joy into the world. Her son Michael was born in Great Falls. The two of them had a special bond that not many can appreciate. The duo lived in Helena, where Michael helped take care of Karen until her last days.
Karen’s bright attitude and quick sense of humor were appreciated by all. Karen was loved by everyone that knew her. Her over-the-top jokes and personality made her an absolute gem. Karen’s loves of dance made her favorite show “Dancing with the Stars” and Michael was often made her jitterbug dance partner.
For almost three years, Karen was on dialysis due to diabetic kidney disease. Her battle with the disease ended on September 24th, 2016. Karen found peace in last two weeks of her life. Her vivacious spirit lit the room and put a smile on all the family, friends, and dialysis nurses that came to visit to visit her. Even at the end of her life, Karen was comforting everyone around her. She mustered the strength to support Michael, telling him that everything would be OK.
Karen was preceded in death by her brothers: Steven and Mark, sisters Linda Heyes and Pamela Annas and both parents. She is survived by her son Michael Stoyanoff, sister Vicki Annas-Salcido, and best friend Karen Huffman. Services are pending.

I am so sorry to hear of Karen’s passing.
We worked together at the Masonic home back in the 70’s.
Karen was such a “FUN” person. Always a smile and a joke. She was just a BLAST to be around. RIP Karen.

To my best friend of 44 years I wish you peace.
It was so very nice to have caught up with you two weeks ago before your passing.
At least we got a few laughs in and had a good old chat.
I will miss calling you from the land of Oz.
Rest in Peace my dear friend. Love Jannine

Went to school with Karen and also worked with her at Fort Harrison. Shared a lot of laughs. May you now rest in peace and be free of pain.
