Kenneth Paul Hohn, 84 of Helena, passed away on Thursday May 8, 2014 in Missoula, MT. He was born September 18, 1929 in East Helena, MT to Jacob and Alma (Keto) Hohn. Kenneth was raised in East Helena, and Townsend, where he also attended school.
In 1950 he joined the U.S. Army and began his training at Fort Lewis, WA. He served with the 11th AAA “C” Battery in Austria and Germany and was discharged in 1952. After honored service to his country, he worked at Armor Metal Products, Phillips Clover Leaf Dairy and the Federal Reserve Bank where he retired in February 1994. He was also a proud member of the West Helena Valley Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years.
Some of the things Ken loved to do was garden, where he grew the “BEST” vegetables and flowers, that he always shared with everyone. He enjoyed wood working and spent hours in the garage building bird houses, bird feeders, planters and other small projects. He really enjoyed traveling and going camping with Jane in their motorhome, which they both loved to do.
Ken had a laugh that was very loud and distinct. If you were some place and you heard it, you knew it was him before you even saw him. You could not help but laugh along with him, which always made you feel good.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jane (Wolstein) Hohn; his children, Kevin Hohn and wife Dana of Lake Hills, TX, Cindy Fradette and her husband David of Helena, MT, Pam Blank of Billings, MT, Amy Holyoak and her husband Jim of Payson, AZ. 3 grandsons; Patrick Fradette, Lucas Fradette, Grady Hall; 3 granddaughters; Danielle Hohn, Kelli Hohn, Hannah Holyoak and 1 great grandson Tristan Still. I will really miss him- he was great to be around, and always brought a laugh. I remember his days of working as a clown and the wonderful costumes he would have. Also as a kid it was always great when the “ice cream man” would show up at family functions with his gallons to share. Nothing but good memories of being with him and the rest of the family.
