Lawrence (Larry) Wesley Peterson was born Sept. 29, 1934 outside of Willow Creek, MT to William (Ben) and Lucille (DeFields) Peterson. He passed away June 28, 2016.
Larry attended school in Willow Creek. In 1951 he came to Helena and worked on his Uncle Wallace Ward’s ranch. He married Nettie Poe on June 19, 1954 in Helena, MT, had 5 children, they were divorced in 1978.
Larry married Lola Jean Domer Flanagan June 17, 1978 in Helena. He joined the Army Reserve in 1952 and received a medical discharge in 1955.
He was employed in various jobs including Superintendent of the Helena Dial-A-Ride and at the Federal Reserve Bank. He and Lola owned a tobacco and magazine store in Whitefish, MT. He retired in 1992.
Larry’s hobbies were building doll houses and replica historical buildings, including the house his Great Grandfather built. He started LaLo Miniatures with his wife. He also enjoyed car racing and carpentry work.
He and Lola were in several Christian ministries. They started Song Productions Inc. to touch the hearts of people with Christian music. He always felt that he was only alive because of the grace of the Lord.
Larry and Lola love to travel, they enjoyed cruises to Alaska, their travels to Canada and to Mexico, and many other special places in the states.
He was preceded in death his parents, daughters Sharon and Gloria, his sister Gladys, and brother-in-law Don Marion.
Larry is survived by his wife of 38 years Lola, his son and daughter Richard and Debi Peterson of Helena, son-in-law Kim Kenny of Ohio, his daughter Cathy Hartsfield of Tulsa, OK, two step-children Vivian (Chuck) Allen and Penelope (Andy) Widdifield of Whitefish, 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
