Marion Angelos, 79, passed away on August 2, 2014 after a second brave battle with cancer.
Mary was born on June 13, 1935 in Chicago to John and Helen (Lilles) Georgas. She was later joined by sister, Estelle and brother, Steve. They lived close to their cousins, and Mom had great stories to tell about growing up in the same neighborhood together.
Mary’s father and uncles owned a small neighborhood grocery store, where she worked during high school. After graduating from Amundsen High School in 1953, Mary pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. Three years later, she graduated from the Grant Hospital of Chicago School of Nursing. Mom loved nursing school and made life-long friends there. Her favorite area of study was surgical care, and after graduation, she worked as an operating room nurse at Ravenswood Hospital and Cook County Hospital.
In 1965, Mary married the love of her life, John Angelos, in Chicago, and they had two children. In 1972, the family moved to Montana and farmed near Conrad. After her children were grown, Mary returned to nursing, working at Pondera Medical Center, the Great Falls Eye Surgery Center, and Rocky Mountain Care Center in Helena before retiring.
Mary was an avid reader, preferring mysteries, current events, and politics. She loved art, especially Western artwork, and enjoyed needlepointing and making jewelry. She was happy living in Helena later in her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband in 2010; she is survived by her son, John Steven Angelos of Conrad; daughter and son-in-law Anastasia and Jim Burton and grandchildren James and Gracie Burton of Helena. Mary is also survived by her siblings, sisters-in-law, cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary’s family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and volunteers at St. Peter’s Cancer Treatment Center and Hospice Services for their supportive and compassionate care of Mom.

Dear Stacy & John:
Our deepest condolences to you and your loved ones. May God’s grace be sufficient.
We have such precious memories, from years ago, visiting with your Mom & Dad (and when you two were just young ‘uns); sightseeing, laughter, food, and always good conversations. They were quite a twosome! You were fortunate, indeed.
With our love & prayers,
Cousin Violette & Barry
