Marsha Lee Perkins, 72, of Helena, passed peacefully surrounded by loving family at home from natural causes on November 29, 2021. She was born November 26, 1949 in Great Falls to Alfred Bryant Waddell and Patricia Jane Waddell (Schram). She reunited with her high school friend, William John Perkins, and they were married in April 22nd, 2000.
Marsha lived most of her life in Helena and began working at her parent’s gas station/hardware store while in high school. She worked at various businesses in Helena and made her career as a bookkeeper. She had an adventurous spirit and was still ready to get in an RV and travel cross country if she could. She enjoyed a variety of things throughout her life like water skiing, camping, garage sales, crocheting, and bowling to name a few. Marsha was an avid sports fan and was always there to support and cheer on her children and grandchildren. She loved sports so much that she got involved in the startup of the Helena Babe Ruth program; she was also active in the Youth Bowling Association and coached both bowling and baseball. She had a passion for helping others and would often have additional people or animals staying in her home. Family and friends were an important part of her life; she loved celebrating holidays and special events with them. She made many lifelong friendships and will be truly missed.
She was survived by two sons, Aaron (Gaylene) Nelson and Daniel (Julie) Satterfield; grandchildren, Nathan Nelson, David Nelson, Jacob Nelson, Cyrus Satterfield, and Ryan-Avery (Megan) Satterfield; great-grandchildren, Aralynn Marlowe and Liam Nelson; brothers, John (Sandy) Waddell and Jim Murphy; brother-in-law, James Maxwell; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Perkins; parents, Alfred and Patricia Waddell; sister Diane Maxwell, and infant son Bryant Satterfield.

On November 29th I lost my best friend. Marsha and I have been friends since the 5th grade. No matter what, she always stood by me. She loved her family ferociously. My heart is sad for us left behind but I’m happy that she is with our Lord. My prayers go out to her family.
