Mary Cecilia Day (Moore) was born in 1932 in Deer Lodge, Montana, where she was raised in a large, closely knit family. She left Deer Lodge to study nursing at Carroll College, becoming an RN. For over 30 years she was a surgery nurse at the VA Medical Center at Fort Harrison in Helena where she not only provided care for countless military veterans, but also supervised and mentored many nurses just beginning their careers. It was her family and her faith, however, that mattered the most to her. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt who will be greatly missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband (Roy), two brothers (Robert and Charles), and two sisters (Kathleen and Agnes). She is survived by her sister, Frances (Olympia, WA); by her sons, Bob (Joyce), Pat (Karen), and Mike (Pam); by grandsons Sean (Tina), Collin (Shandyce), Hunter, and Colter; by her granddaughter Jordan; by great-granddaughters Chloe, Sydney, Annabelle; and by her great-grandson, Brayden.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2015 at Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery, Hero’s Road, Fort Harrison, MT 59636. A memorial mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary’s name may be made to the Cathedral of Saint Helena, 530 N. Ewing St., Helena, MT 59601.

I am sorry to hear of your moms passing. She was a great lady and took good care of us kids in the neighborhood. I am sure we weren’t the easiest to deal with. Lol. You and your families are in our thoughts and prayers.
