My thoughts and prayers go out to Monte’s family and friends. He was a friend and school mate (Class of ’65) and I remember him fondly. “Gentle soul” (as another comment described him) fits my memory. May the sorrow of his passing soon be replaced with wonderful memories for those close to him.
Richard Wright says
My deepest sympathy to all of Monte’s family. He was such a gentle soul. I had not seen Monte since high school until I was so fortunate to visit with him at our 50th class reunion.
Many blessings

Janet – I was very saddened to hear of Monte’s passing. I moved from Helena shortly after graduation and had not seen Monte until seeing you both at the 50th Class Reunion. I will always remember some of the fun times we shared together playing “hockey” on a frozen pond close to the Green Meadow Golf Course or playing baseball in a huge vacant lot on Elm Street behind the old Bair’s Truck Stop. As others have said, Monte had a gentle soul. He was liked by everyone who met him. Monte left us much too early. Thinking of you and the rest of his family. Peace, michael

My condolences to Monte’s family. I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve knew Monte since Junior High School and he always acknowledged me with a smile and handshake. We did reminisce from time to time some of the things that went on “back in the day” lol. May he rest in peace.
Les & Sharon Hathcock says
We will miss seeing Monte on his front porch during warm summer days. He loved his lawn and there would never be a dandelion in it. His lawn was definitely the envy of the neighborhood. Our thoughts and prayers to you and family.
Deena Verworn says
Janet, Jessie and Family,
Please except my deepest sympathy during this very difficult time. Monte was one of the kindest, humorous and generous men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I count it as a blessing having the honor of knowing him over 30 years. I will miss our many conversations about photography, shooting, gardening, Janet’s looming, carpentry projects, antiques and travel adventures just to name a few. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
