The world lost an amazing, wonderful man… my beloved brother Paul. I watched him grow up and become a truly loving, caring and sharing man. He loved to share the outdoors, fishing outings, his fishing secret of ‘Joe’s flies’, his Dutch oven or smoker recipes with others. He took me on my first fishing trip in canoe, and later my first fishing trip in a kayak, He taught me how to hold and handle a fly rod for the first time. He even tried to teach me how to cook in a Dutch oven. The world will be a very different place for me without him in it. I would like to thank my brother, Paul for all the joy, love, peace, caring and sharing and just the fun he brought into my life..with him, life was always an adventure ! I know that Paul loved his wife, Lisa and his sons Kevin and Kyle dearly. This was evident not only in his words but his actions. He was proud of what his sons had accomplished and the men they had become. As for his wife, Lisa; he said he would follow her anywhere… even Montana and support her in anything she wanted to do. Paul truly was a loving gentle man with a caring nature. No words can express the feeling of loss. My sympathy and thoughts are with Lisa, Kevin and Kyle at this time. I am truly sorry for your loss.

When i first met Paul was with Kris Stanley my friend who introduced us at a beer festival. His smile as well as his love of beer was contageous. We talked and drank for hours. If there was a beerfest him and Kris were sure to be there to compare to what they were brewing, i still have a couple of his concauctions in my fridge, because they were so good i didnt want his gift to me to end and be gone. He even invited me over for a brewing night with the group, where we bottled up the best raspberry wine i have ever tasted. Once again he shared, and i was blessed to get a few bottles. Paul and Lisa were so generous to open up their home to a friend of a friend and i felt instantly welcomed. As i write this it is such a shock to know he is no longer with us, as his last words to me were at Kris’s funeral, we need to get together and brew again sometime. I am going to pop one of your beers and share a toast to you. Now you and Kris are together brewing up new thing. Blessings to your family for sharing just a little bit of you with me. I always felt welcome. You will be missed.

My deepest sympathies and prayers for the Rasmussen family. Paul was one of my Burglary sergeants at Mesa PD and I had the utmost respect for him. He was a good man and boss.

I’m just starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together. I’m the sister of Kris Stanley, who was good friends with Paul before Kris passed last October. To Paul’s Family – I’m so very sorry for your loss! I know there are no words to comfort you, but please know that there are people loving you, and praying for you from afar. I just saw this today and I’m really disappointed I missed the gathering yesterday – I would have certainly come. We know what you are going through, and if there’s anything we can do, please let us know. (we just recently left a message on Paul’s phone). I’m sure Kris was there to greet Paul, and they are talking about brewing recipes and fishing secrets. So very sorry I did not have a chance to get to know him better.
